True. That's why I said this fight is closer than people think it is. There is a reason why Canelo and his team made this fight last for the undisputed belts. They felt this was the hardest challenge vs the others champions he fought.

Caleb slapped first, and Canelo threw it back. Boxers have quick reaction time and they are able to think fast and react fast - especially these two. Caleb probably didn't want to throw a punch but he got pushed so he probably just wanted to sneak a slap in but wasn't expecting to get countered like that. He got stuck after the counters and it look like it got to him after the altercation. Most boxers throw open hand slaps if they get into it at face-offs so they don't risk injuring their hands before the fight if it's close to the fight date. Mayorga threw slaps and back handed slaps all the time before at press conferences and face-offs. If someone throws a punch then yes they throw punches back, it all depends on what happens at the moment.

This isn't fake between them, their camps has been talking shit to each other back and forth for a very long time now. Caleb has been calling Canelo and his whole team out including his coaches. It's personal between them. This is probably comparable to Jones and DC and thinking their press conference altercation was fake.

It’s kind of ridiculous to think pro boxers wouldn’t be conscious of damaging their hands before an important fight
 
For those who haven’t seen it already, Plant and Canelo scrapped a lil at their face off. If you ask me these comments are ridiculous considering Dana has had fighters who’ve had to pull out because of injuries during faceoffs.



“I’m not surprised at ‘sh*t-Showtime’ those guys are great, they’re really good at what they do – from production, to press conferences, they’re f*cking awesome,” White said sarcastically during the Dana White’s Contender Series 40 post-fight news conference on Tuesday evening. “How long have you been in the business, that you would let two fighters go up to each other, face-to-face, without somebody there to try to (stop them).”
 
Definitely a little bit of the pot calling the kettle black coming from Dana considering some of the stuff that has happened in the UFC. But he’s right, probably should have somebody between them or at least close by to hold them back to begin with. They definitely should have when they started jawing back and forth.

The security was light during the Canelo/Plant face off but then again so was the case during the Jones/DC mayhem

In fairness he was pissed when that happened in the UFC and threw Sean Shelby under the bus iirc.

In general, ofc his comments are ridiculous, he just doesn't like the showtime guys and this is as good excuse as any to go off on them.
 
Dana is a hypocrite and shit talks the competition, big surprise. The fact that he dislikes the Showtime people so much shows they are doing something right.
 
LOL it wasn't that long ago that meathead Jeremy Stephens pushed Klose at the weigh ins injuring him and the fight had to be cancelled. Which was a much worse outcome than this Canelo stuff as the fight is not cancelled.

Dana only cares about you if you’re making money for him or taking money from him. Showtime is definitely making money in the combat sports world and Dana doesn’t like that. That’s money out of his pocket in his mind.
 
He is just jealous a boxing event is getting huge attention and millions of ppvs
