Media Dana White on combatting piracy

Didn't Dana shut down all the free streamers a few years ago? Now they're back?
Funny joke but we all know good and well that Dana ended illegal streams when they found "the guy" and announced it to all the world.

We've all been paying $100 per event since then. I miss that guy, but Dana got him. I still remember how proud he was.

Dana need only look at across the boardroom at WWE.

They did away with PPV in favor of the subscription model, which is reasonably priced and offers a lot of bang for the buck, including all the major event shows and back catalogue.
Which incentivized a lot of people to sign up

They still clip streams now and the but they realize this is the new landscape, and adjusting to it has them doing all time record business, worldwide, WITH their biggest asset Roman Reigns as a part timer.

That's funny cuz my streams keep getting better and better
Iirc, it's not illegal to watch someone else's broadcasted stream. It's illegal to broadcast a stream for others to watch.

However, I just do the ethical thing and buy it if I'm interested.

I don't agree with people here.
I mean, UFC ain't first need product. You are attacking Dana like he is blocking food for orphan. No like one of thousands of possible entertaitment.
I got UFC fight pass for like 60$ a year, got everything I wanna watch there and for me it is bargain. Don't paying for PPV, because there are like 1 or 2 fights, that I wanna watch anyway, better wait a week.
Is current model the best buissenes for UFC? I don't know, not used to be CEO of billions worth company, hard to say from my experience.

But don't make from Dana evil overlord, because sport's company wants to earn as much as possible. It ain't housing. It ain't agriculture. For fucking sake - it aint holy meat industry.

You can justify anything with that line of thinking.

What's a few people jumping out the window so we can have affordable tech?

Just trying to run a multi billion dollar business.

Gotta crack a few eggs ... right?

fighters getting CTE and winding up broke and ruined by age 40...

Just trying to run a multi billion dollar business.

This is an opportunity, not a career.

Kill 6 million jews...

Just following orders.

Gotta look out for the stockholders bro!!

last UFC i paid for was Ian Freeman v Frank Mir

used to get it as part of my sports package on BT Sports, since then i've streamed it if i've wanted to watch it. Dana probably points to streamers and says "this is why i cant pay the fighters more", while he pays millions of pounds to get fake snow on his driveway

The relative value of a ppv today compared to a ppv 10 years ago is truly like one percent.

It's ridiculous, there's no way I would ever buy one. More money plus a bullshit subscription to watch watered down cards? Nope.

The ufc js holding the sport hostage. Abusive fighter contracts and aggressive competition with any other possible rival promotion means they know they've got the whole market locked down. But it isn't just a market. It's a sport. Fuck the ufc for reducing the sport we love to a cynical market domination for profit opportunity

Pay per view prices amounts to stealing from people.

That product is not worth 50-70 USD.

Often there's only 2-3 fights with name fighters on there.. and it's just watching it on TV. For that price you could see a popular music artist live..
Damn I only pay 14 usd and watch all events with Disney+
