Dana White doesn't know why Jon Jones hasn't signed his UFC contract

That's all he does? really? wow, you sure seem to know alot.

Except it's obvious that you don't.

How about shutting up the next time you think we're interested in your point of view on matters you haven't got a clue about.

You seem quite rustled, sir.

Money. The guy is a marketable, dominant champion. Arguably the GOAT already and still growing as a fighter, with plenty of years left of his prime. Based on all of that he probably deserves one of the bigger contracts in MMA history. GSP, Liddell, Lesnar, Anderson style money. He might not be the draw that they were/are, but he has plenty of time left in his career.

This is the same old game Dana always plays. He knows exactly why Jones isnt signing the contract and it is probably something Dana did wrong.

You're seriously fuckin stupid. I'm sure he remembers Gustafson losing a fight to him. This is business.

Im seriously going to start pasting this in every thread where Jones is implied to be a coward for not signing a deal he doesn't like:

You are all missing the bigger picture.

Jones isn't afraid or ducking anyone. That's what Dana is insinuating in order to try to make Jones sign a less favorable deal than he can get by waiting and properly negotiating terms. Gus will still be fighting when these negotiations are over. The last time Dana tried using fans and media to pressure Jones was ufc 151. Jones didn't bend over then, and he is not going to bend over now.

All you guys complain about fighter pay and you want Jones to sign a new contract as soon as possible even if he doesn't like the terms. It makes no sense.

If Jones has finished the fights on his contract, he and his manager should be fielding offers from other promotions for the ufc to match.

If he hasn't, then why is the ufc trying to make a new deal before the Gus fight? What if Jones wants to finish his current contract BEFORE signing a new one? The open market would end up making Jones a lot more money just because the ufc would match any offer made to him.

Think of the position Jones is in:

1. Approaching free agency
2. P4P #1
3. Number 1 in his division
4. Has beaten 5 ufc champs
5. Arguably undefeated except for one bs technicality

Does this look familiar? Remind you of a situation from a few years back where a fighter was offered 6 million dollars a fight? Now imagine that fighter was only 26 years old. Jones has more leverage than arguably any fighter in ufc history. He won't be bullied through fans and the media into a deal that he doesn't like.

What's it you guys always say? If you don't like the contract, don't sign it.

Jones is going to take that advice. Its time to find out how much one fighter can really be worth to the ufc.

Nicely put. Jones will end up with a great contract and shut all these idiots up after he destroys Gus.

Yawn the UFC hates when guys negotiate through the public but here they are doing the same. Huge fail by the UFC, public pressure does not work with Jones, Jones stopped being a company ass licker long ago.

This. Pay the man something fitting what you label the #1 P4P via your media stooges and let's get this show on the road.

It's not about $

He's trying to procrastinate this fight as long as possible because he remembers what Gus did to him last time.

In case you hadn't heard, Jones won the fight.

Jones is the champ and the best fighter in the world. He should be paid like the top fighter.

I personally don't think it has anything to do with Gus, I think it has more to do with Dana.

Dana made a big mistake the day he cancelled UFC 151 and blamed it publicly on Jones, he's the most powerful fighter in MMA at the moment, and I actually think he's trying to teach Dana a lesson, and maybe even help the other fighters a bit at the same time.

The UFC need to change they way they do business, Dana creates interest and has played a big part in the development of MMA, but I now think he's holding it back.

He should continue his role as event promoter but I don't think he should have any involvement in fighter contracts because he can't hold his tongue in public.

He's trying to procrastinate this fight as long as possible (while he himself will train his ass off to beat Gus, hoping Gus will play into his mind games and not be as prepared as himself).

Hopefully Gus doesn't slack, and works hard every single day, even if their fight doesn't have a date yet.

Stop stalling Jones! Be a real champ...and just fucking fight! Champions should have no say in who they fight. People here say that champions should be able to pick and chose. Nope. A champion has obligation to defend the belt, against anyone. If they are not willing to do that, they should be stripped of the title.

The only ones who should be able to pick and chose opponents should be fighters not involved in the title picture. The fights don't matter, so either they can fight whoever (but it won't really effect their rankings) or just sit at home and do nothing, doesn't matter for the division.

But a champion should defend the belt against whoever the Organization puts infront of them.

Jones hasnt complained about money but has been very vocal about fighting gus or cromier.

Draw your own conclusions.

Does anyone really believe that Jones has a contract he won't sign and hasn't told the UFC what he doesn't like about it?

almost not worth asking but still worth a mention.
