How is it dumb? 2-3 interesting matchups isn't enough to carry a division. There really aren't that many decent 145ers out there.

Fighters, just like in every other sport, have to collectively negotiate their purses, or nothing will change.

Also, Dana is as responsible as anyone for turning MMA into what it is, something that would've been unimaginable 20 years ago. There are a lot of superstars now who would have never gotten into MMA if it wasn't for the UFC, and TUF. And the sport would be so much smaller if the UFC never happened.

If she goes to the UFC, there's 1 single interesting fight and that's pretty much it. Outside of Nunes 145lbs is barren, unless she's willing to cut to 135, which I'm not even sure if she can.

Her vs Nunes would be cool to see, but she might be better off economically crushing cans at PFL. If she keeps winning, she can get 1million every 4 fights (she’s already made more than 2mil since 2018) plus whatever other fight purses and sponsors she's getting. Uncle Dana would have to throw her $300k a fight at least to make it worth it, unless they're willing to make a one off PPV against Nunes.

I rather see her go to Bellator, where they have a growing 145 Women's division, for longevity in career. In the UFC, for the money she seeks, she really only has GDR, Megan and possibly even Holly as her first three fights in the UFC, before getting a shot at Amanda. Though I'd love to see her tested against those four, Kayla vs Talita, Zingano, Budd and Cyborg, plus a few others in that weight class in Bellator, would also be just as interesting and would give her more fights over a longer period of time. Unless the UFC signs most of Bellator's 145 Women's division, there isn't much else after a fight with Amanda, unless she beats Amanda, then they can rematch.

Edit: Tate is coming back and mentioned she gained enough muscle to fight at 145 if a title shot at 135 isn't realistic after one or two wins.

UFC has no FW div so its Nunes and then if she wins its whoever wants to move up to fight her and honestly I dont even know if UFC is interested in bringing her in for that reason.

5-6 names isn't anywhere near enough, and it's hard to find girls this size who are doing MMA. It's a lot easier with the lower weights.

Do agree that more money would help get more athletes interested. That ain't going to be happening any time soon though.
