Dan Hooker rips UFC over canceled tickets: ‘I’m not going to break my back for a company that doesn’t respect me’

So this dude had to wake up early for work for 1 fucking day and couldn't do it. Lmao.
He makes more in one fight than most of us make all year. Fuck this guy. and any of you defending him are retarded.

Most people on here dont have jobs and their weird ass hate for the UFC has clouded their judgements.

His point is that Dan isn't some prelim jobber. He's a guy you can throw in a Fight Night main event or on a PPV main card. He's a Top 10 LW.
Thats even worst, a prelim jobber you can say he’s not used to many obligations and can excuse it for being inexperience and new to it all, a Top 10 fighter who’s been in the org for 10yrs and has been backed, promoted should know and be professional enough at this point.
There's other solutions to handle problems. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Hurting fighter relations doesn't help anyone here.
A lot people will take Hookers side and call me a shill, i frankly dont care, if he agreed to it then no call no showed then thats on him, accountability is missing in the world of today.

I kinda get both sides. He and all the fighters destroy their bodies and future livelihoods for this career and company, but the UFC couldn't do something as simple as give the fighters tickets? Like Dana and co are really that greedy? I get that every fighter can't come to events and bring their whole entourage for free, but at least a free ticket for wife/family/partner or something.

But yeah, it's a job, most companies don't give a fuck about the employee, so why would they do him any favors? And for real, I've had to get up at 3am plenty of times for work, so he could suck it up and deal with it for one single day.

Nah man Dan definitely fucked up. I'm not excusing his role in any of this.

But Dan isn't a UFC executive. I expect these people to be mature adults. They could have handled the situation differently and still dished out some sort of punishment.

Having one of your top fighters upset and sitting out isn't going to bring you a profit. That's for sure. This whole thing is stupid.

He also gives more at work than any of us. Are you getting CTE from your job?

I could turn it around and say the same to Hooker. Hurting your relations with the #1 MMA org in the world over having to wake up at 3am 1 fucking day is stupid and petty. Can the UFC just get a proper heads up that you can't make it? He's a full time fighter he could have just taken a nap later in the day.

You try no showing on your job after agreeing to be there and let me know what the consequences are for you. For most people it's losing their job. So IMO Hooker got off light here.

It wasn't 3 AM. He said it was 3 AM in New Zealand to justify it, but he was in Las Vegas. It was 7:30 AM in Vegas. Boo fucking hoo.
Guy just flew across the world and could've slept the whole way. "Daner I'm tired from sitting and no I haven't even been drinking"

Ok guy.

Exactly. The UFC hurting their fighter relations over some non-relevant event is just stupid. The guy will take a fight injured, but now would rather sit. Good job.
Get real, Hooker burned his bridge with his employer, not the other way around. It wasn't 3AM Vegas time, it was 3AM Hooker time. Thought he could travel to Vegas and still act like it was he was in some other time zone just so he could play hooky from work and then get invited to a free work party later on is stupid. Then he whines about it publicly to gain pity from other no show entitled whiners. Good job Hooker !

The older I get, the more tragic 80s hair gets. What's up with that?
The 80s is when pop culture went thru puberty.

When you are figuring shit out there's gonna be a swing and a miss now and again.

The thing I find interesting is how fucking good the music was before it mattered if you were pretty. The 70s had some ugly motherfuckers dropping some tremendous music!!

Who does this Hooker guy think he is?

Acting like he is owed a sick/personal day after only 11 years with the company!!

Yes and when you take sick/personal days from work do you just not show up or do you give them a heads up that you can't make it?

He had a work obligation that he flaked on and then wanted to be treated to the freebie.

If he wasn't gonna make it he should've let them know sounds like he just acted like it didn't matter and then is shocked when there's a repercussion.

Jesus.

Yall some literal ass no sense of humor having motherfuckers.

Do I really.gotta explain the joke? Good lord.

And while we are at it... why is guy who has taken 27 concussions for the company's ticket to his training partners TITLE FIGHT contingent on his doing some media bullshit at 7am?

Cool.

Support that.

Gotta follow them rules...

Keep in mind at absolute minimum this is 16 hours of travel (you cannot fly direct) and more like 17-20 hours with layover time. Then tack on a few hours of travel to/from airports. The UFC also famously only provides economy tickets.

He got in the night before, it is absolutely ridiculous some asshole at the UFC booked him for 7:30am promotional appearance after spending an entire day traveling across the world.

This isn't a paid appearance either.

The UFC use these dudes up like a commodity and toss them in the bin the absolute minute they're done extracting value from them. Hooker is right and the UFC are shitty partners. They are such shitty partners they had to pay out nearly half a billion dollars in a class action lawsuit.

I find Hooker annoying but he's 100% right here, so War Hooker.
Yeah I'm pretty sure most people have no idea how oppressively exhausting a 20 hour flight is.

You're sure it's not the dog that's making Scott jealous?
