Haven’t had an hourly job in quite some time. Try again.

LOL, yeah right. Your words say otherwise. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and have nothing to offer to this conversation but virtue signaling...because you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I'd wager you've never risen above retail clerk.

Sandwich artist, bro

If that’s what makes you feel better then sure.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but don't most people work overtime for more money? here in Aus if you work overtime the hours your at work and working overtime you get paid time and a half rather than just your usual hourly pay.
Don't people go to work to make money? If I work for a gaming company, I'll do my best but at the end of the day what do I care if the product is out on time as long as I'm getting paid?
I'm on the fence here but for the first time in history I think I agree with @Dizzy
If the product you are working on doesn't meet a deadline much like any project, there can be serious ramifications to future work which in turn might mean you no longer have a job.

So would you rather put in OT to make sure the product/project you are working on is done on time or roll the dice and potentially miss deadline/push out a unfinished product and potentially be looking for a new job?

Thats the very black and white of the situation its a pretty clear cut easy decision for me.

No if you’re a salaried employee, you get paid what you get paid, potential for bonuses based on performance. (Which in the case of CDPR employees might equal $2k)

These guys likely have dreams of middle management, throw their lives away for a company that will work them into the ground and replace them with ease.

I feel like those ramifications would fall more on the department manager than the employees in that department. It's up to management to manage the time frames and make sure they are focusing and completing tasks in the right order. The only way you miss out on more work in the future is if you were blatantly slack.

Ok Bernie
There are companies that exist that are well managed, pay a good wage, and don’t expect you to neglect your personal life.

Check out indeed, might find a better situation for yourself. Try not to keel over by 42.

Great now i think game is going to suck

CD Projekt is poised to become one of the big boys on the block so to speak after what they were able to do with Witcher 3. I don't think there is any way in fuck they allow Cyberpunk to fail.

I honestly don't get the love for the Witcher 3. I didn't enjoy it much and I love open world games, but a world with virtually nothing to do in the open world is really just wasted space. Sure you can ride around and explore or fight some monsters but that's literally it. There is no way to really make your own fun in the Witcher.

I just finished Kingdom Come Deliverance and all of it's dlc. For it's jankiness, bugs and other little quibbles, as an rpg? Blows Witcher 3 out of the water. Not a fantasy game like W3, but I don't get the lauding of W3 as an rpg. Loved the story, but the actual rpg stuff isn't much there tbh.

Hmmm not sure, if the product is a absolute shit show, unfinished, buggy etc etc and still pushed out because they didnt want to "crunch" who is to say they would win any more future work. I am relating this to my field (heavy industry/mining) if you absolutely balls up an equipment install because you didnt want to put the hours in to make sure the product was as described then you will probably not win any more tenders in the future an be out of a job regardless if you are the engineer, tradesman, shit kicker etc.

But I'm telling you that I can, and I still don't care. To me, it's negligible. Nothing I'm going to rush out for and make sure I have. This is a consistent disconnect I have with PC gamers. They just can't accept that most people simply don't give a shit, even if they know and acknowledge the difference. It's simply not as big of a deal as some think it is. If it's a big deal to you, that fine. If it's not to others, just accept it. It is what it is.

Even as a PC gamer, I don't notice it. I would rather have 60 than 30 but not because it looks any different, its just better if you drop some frames at 60 rather than 30. As far as the difference though, its very slight and most of the time I can't even notice a difference even when watching them side by side.

Agreed. I finished Kingdom Come Deliverance twice. The Witcher 3 I fucked a chick on a unicorn and it felt like the game hit its peak and I had nothing more to see.

I can't really turn this into a Witcher discussion, I loved it is pretty much all I can add. The point was that people are really looking forward to this Cyberpunk game, its a make or break situation for CD Projeckt in a sense. They cannot afford to spend this kind of money and time to put out a flop. I fully expect this game to be Game of the Year contender. If not, they have failed.

Consistent frame rate is 1000x more important than Higher frame rate. I'd take a rock solid 60fps over dipping and diving between 60 and 120

honestly right now it'll be game of the year if it simply releases.

You just don't care about story or characters if all you got out of it was "fucking a chick on a unicorn"

You're 100% correct.
The majority of games I couldn't careless about most characters the last game that grabbed me with the story was probably Far Cry 3. I've also stated this many times that gameplay is what I value in a game over the story. I'm happy enough making my own story.
