You haven’t a clue what you’re talking about.

They aren’t working extra here and there to meet a deadline. These are standard hours that last for months on end, sometimes over a year.

I can guarantee you that no one defending this shit has ever worked those kinds of hours for that long a period.

O nooooooo 6 days a week for a few months o shit please NOOOOO.

Stop being so fucking soft. They are getting paid for it and its basic 8 hour days.

edit.....its 6 WEEKS ONLY god dam people really need a reality check. That is 6 extra days work an they are getting paid well. Cry babies gonna cry I guess.
Again, you don’t have a fucking clue what you’re talking about.

It’s been going on for MONTHS before they made it officially mandatory and in some cases people have been working these extended hours for over a year.

Seriously, shut the hell up if you’re going to be willfully ignorant.

You must really work a low level shit job if you think that is "hard work".

YOU have no fucking idea what you're talking about it seems. In the real world people put in extra effort and make sacrifices to push out a finished product. But being a fry cook you probably dont know about that.

The middle-management dipshit brigade is out in full force lmao.

Amazing how even when told how wrong they are they double down.

So working longer hours and more days = working hard?

Yes. What do you think happens in the business world, video game industry or otherwise? People just clock out at 5:00pm no matter what? All those Wall Street investors that you likely hate with a passion, are busting their asses all the same. It's business. Don't like it? Wendy's is right down the street.

It's not exploitation if they have options. You're talking like these guys are in a sweat shop making three cents an hour. That's simply not the case. They're being worked hard because the occupation they chose is a demanding one. I repeat, boo hoo. Can't hack it? Quit.

PS: Unions have also produced slow production, corruption, out of control wages, and business shut downs because of slow production, corruption and out of control wages. It's not all sunshine and roses.

Learn how the real world works then come back
My CEO doesn’t even consistently work 60+ hour weeks and far, far out earns you. Don’t be upset because not everyone is a complete sucker.

It's quite the opposite, actually. People who can't comprehend these types of hours and demand, have never worked anything but menial jobs where your skills aren't valued or necessary. Punch in, punch out. That's clearly all you know.

An what industry do you work in?
What is your job?

Haven’t had an hourly job in quite some time. Try again.

Let’s see, paper boy, fast food worker, menial employee, now Subway (my first job though lol).

The overworked, underpaid are a dime a dozen. You aren’t special to your organization. Breaking your back for them isn’t going to get you to the top. Amazing how few people can find a good paying job at a company that doesn’t bend them over and expect to be thanked for it.

Imagine being proud of working 60+ hours a week for a middling salary.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but don't most people work overtime for more money? here in Aus if you work overtime the hours your at work and working overtime you get paid time and a half rather than just your usual hourly pay.
Don't people go to work to make money? If I work for a gaming company, I'll do my best but at the end of the day what do I care if the product is out on time as long as I'm getting paid?
I'm on the fence here but for the first time in history I think I agree with @Dizzy
