CroCop all-time status

Sakuraba and wand are not heavy weights

CroCop's wins over Sakuraba and Wanderlei were impressive wins at the time. Much comparable to Machida defeating Penn in K-1 Heros imho. Regardless of weight-class beating a good, proven if fighter is still beating a good, proven fighter.

machida beating bj penn doesn't rank amongst machida's top 5 wins, maybe not even top 10 wins

One of Pride's greatest, however his UFC tenure was nothing short of a joke especially given the amount of hype he had before coming in.

2nd best Heavyweight of all time for me. Nothing about JDS or Cain shows me they could beat him in his prime. Had Nog advanced to owgp final he would have met the same fate as wanderlei did that night. Sucks that a lot of American/ufc fans never saw him at his best.

He was never champion, jackhead.
That's just one belt they created. Any stinky little MMA org can make up a belt.
Being champion means that you're the best fighter in your weight class.

You're a Jackhead! Shit! There are plenty of athletes that never won a title and are considered to be in top 5 of all time. Karl Malone - NBA, Ted Williams - MLB, Charles Barkley - NBA and Dan Marino - NFL. Just because you never won a "Legitimate" title doesn't mean you aren't top 5. Lame!

What exactly is "prime Mirko"?

His OWGP win took place in September in 2006. He got his head kicked off by Gonzaga in April of 2007. If mathematics serves me correctly, that is only a 7 month period.

You mean to tell me that he went from being an unstoppable juggernaut that destroyed two great fighters in one night to being a slow, battered, washed-up, out of prime shell of himself within just a 7 month period?

His wins over Fujita were big upsets too, the knee strike was the strategy that he needed otherwise he was going to be taken down, and it worked, crazily enough. And Minotauro's corner put water all over their area on purpose so it would be easy to take Mirko down because Nog was getting owned so bad in the first round. Dirty move.

If you ever competed in anything you'd know how it's possible.

top-three in his prime. gave fedor his toughest fight in pride.

a legend for sure.

That knee to the face was awesome. I keep showing it to friends who've never seen it before. When Fujita turns his face and reveals to the camera the bloodied face they all go

Pretty low to be honest, barely top 10 at this point. His best wins are over Barnett, and I don't really count wins over smaller fighters like Wanderlei in open weight fights.

LOL comparing him to me? I don't remember claiming to be an MMA fighter much less an all time great in the sport.

Sorry but I'm not buying the "Out of prime" argument.

He was a great HW fighter in Pride but as far as the UFC goes, he wasn't even at the gatekeeper level.

Getting KO'd by UFC gatekeepers really dropped him down.

:::SARCASM MODE ON::::

But but but.....he was out of his prime! Prime Mirko would have easily KTFO Gonzaga, the Prime Mirko that competed just 7 months earlier against Barnett and Wanderlei!

Prime Mirko would have easily KTFO JDS and Cain on the same night!

"Prine Mirko" falls into the same sort of mythical class like "Prime Fedor". Fighters that never existed. The only versions of these 2 fighters that ever existed were the overrated ones that feasted on bad competition and freak show fights.

Both of them lost to gatekeepers and could barely achieve a winning record in regulated fights in the US. That is not a coincidence.

I'm comparing your inability to know how any athletic person feels to you obviously never competing. "LOL" at comparing yourself to cro cop indeed.

Yep, Mirko was conveniently out of his prime as soon as he entered the UFC. That 7 month period between his OWGP win and Gonzaga beheading him was just too much of a transition for him. He competed successfully in Pride for years but as soon as he left the org to fight in the UFC, he just happened to leave his prime :icon_lol:

Yep, it just never occurred to their fanboys that maybe they just weren't as good as they thought.

You keep bringing up prime talk and implying that I think his owgp win was during his prime. I have no clue why. Whatever; you're a terrible troll I've amused you long enough.
