Nope our country is not under martial law just the isalnd of Mindanao , our country is made up of 3 major Islands, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao , the capital of the Philippines is in Luzon, the 3 major citiies are Metro Manila ( capital) Cebu (visayas) and Davao City (mindanao)

most of the insurgent shit happens in the South because that's were the large Muslim populace is. We have had terror attacks in Manila but its mostly isolated cases.

While I like to see some dead terrorist. Being incredibly brutal against the Muslim and terrorist is not a long term solution either.
Thailand has been doing that for 30 years.
With over 6000 casualties in the last 10 years (official Thai numbers who know how high they really are).
Also, it's not a straight up Islamist terror here it also has a strong Nationalistic element.

If all he does is go after ISIS and doesn't just use this situation as an excuse to brutalize innocent Muslims who have nothing to do with ISIS, then I hope Duterte goes medieval on their ass.

Chances of that happening: slim to none

Every time there's violent state crackdown on insurgents, the collateral damage is tremendous. ISIS or any other group don't wear ISIS jerseys and decorate their places of operation with their logos and colors.

For example, if there's a village of 1,000 people that's under ISIS control, it's often the case where they just raze the entire town, that way you know for sure you got the bad guys. So yeah, you might kill 30 ISIS members but you also killed 300-400 completely innocent people.

The government does need to respond but Duterte won on a promise to NOT be careful and to kill everything in sight when it comes to bad guys.

Meanwhile the Communist Rebels in their Defiance to Duterte have threatened to increase their attacks as form of defiance against Duterte and the Martial Law.

Duterte should now scrap the the peace talks with the communist and Joma Sison who is in exile in the Netherlands should be arrested.

The republic is being torn apart!!

According to the Governor of Marawi, there are civilian residents that have collaborated with the terrorist, and this is the reason why the Group where able to build up their weaponry without anyone notifying the Police and MIlitary, based from conversations in FB from people who have relatives or have previously live in Marawi city, they say that it is a hub for Islamic fanaticism and it is ticking time bomb.

even with Bad weapons we are still better than the Arabs and even some units of the PLA Chinese today, given enough training and more discipline Filipino soldiers can be as good as anyone else.

I consider them terrorist if they are actively supplying food and other logistics to the ISIS affiliates, they are part of the Jihad and their motivation to support them are the same so yes they can be considered terrorist already.
