Elections Could Joe have won?

Not after the debate, which was the most embarassing moment for a sitting president ever IMP.

But even without the debate, economy, border, crime, etc, Hunter and his family being exposed, he would have lost worse than Kamala.

Thinking he would have done better than Kamala is crazy talk. People here actually thought Kamala won her debate, as did many others, she did NOT. Not to mention got an influx of over a billion dollars that Biden did not have.

Crazy talk

I honestly think he would have preformed worse than Kamala. The left finally couldn't hide that he's declining and that doesn't exactly inspire confidence. I could see a lot of the more casual democratic voters sitting that election out.

in a rational world he would have lost even worse than Harris, wouldn't you prefer a leader who isn't coming down with a case of dementia ?

Exactly. Biden’s approval was horrible, as was Kamala’s, but once they replaced Joe and tried to rebrand the presidency, Kamala’s approval went up quite a bit.

Joe’s would not have gone up, and they wouldn’t have been able to manufacture any hype. Beyoncé is going to come out for Biden after that debate? Uhhh, yea, no.

At least they were able to manufacture a boost for Kamala, there would have been no way to do that for Biden, as taking him out at least allowed them to try and create a clean slate.

The polling was so bad for Biden that democrats in house and senate elections did not want to campaign with them because he was such an issue. At least Kamala was relatively quiet during their 4 years and was able to come in as a fresh face

James Carville has some interesting things to say about what Dems should have done differently in the last election cycle.

Nah they took him out for a reason, he woulda done worse than Harris.

I don't believe he would have, but we'll never know. He probably had more pull than Kamala in the states of importance, by virtue of being an old white guy who's tight with the unions. Losing more heavily in the states they were going to lose anyway, or winning by less in the states they were always going to win, doesn't really matter. In Joe's mind, wherever that is wandering these days, he can always say that he would've been able to do it again, and nobody can prove him wrong.

Partly why he was able to win originally, is because he was able to cut into Trump's support among the blue collar workers in "battleground states", in a way Hillary or Kamala couldn't. Older generations, and males in general, also felt more comfortable voting for him. You can't really explain to your conservative buddies at the bar why you voted for Kamala, as easily as you can explain voting for Joe Biden.

It would have been a closer race, although he would have needed to stay away from debates, interviews, speeches etc. He really lost it upstairs, and that would be too tough to hide. Not to mention, people hated the last 4 years and many see him as the worst President ever. Trump hate might not have been enough to stop the L.

Maybe, but what would’ve happened after he got elected? People would see that they got duped and the dems would’ve been fucked even more than they are now. They realized the lie wouldn’t have been prosperous lol.

I tend to think no. Unsure if he would’ve did worse in than Harris though. I think the general consensus is he should’ve announced a single term before primary season and he possibly was open to the idea of a single term presidency but Trump decided to run so it complicated the calculation for him.

Negative. People were tired of the constant anti American gaslighting garbage. He may not have got railroad by Kamala but them again he's nowhere near as unlikeable as she is.

I dont think so after the first debate. It was more about his state and ability to go 4 more years. Dems were stuck really when he stayed in so long and there was little time to react. Joe should have run in 2016.

Not a chance….

Democrats hit the panic button after the debate when the first poll that came out had Biden behind Trump by 10+ points

Here’s where he was officially cooked

Yeah I'd tend to agree. Especially the Latino guys I know-they're some of the most staunch conservatives I've met. If the Dems don't figure out a way to distance themselves from some of the really far left culture stuff, they are never gonna win that Latino male vote back (to where they need it anyway).
Your telling me Latinos couldn't connect eith Kamala and Tampon Tim Walz. Shocking

The economy and that horrible debate performance were not overcomeable for ole Sleepy Joe
it's politics and hard to predict and on the flip side, the Kamala initial surge had some Trump supporters spooked, five/six months was a lot of time to change opinions, people will forget. if he had another disaster debate closer to the end, which was highly probable, then you can definitely stick a fork in him.

I, personally, think Trump did pretty poorly in the Harris debate, but you can argue about and assess the Trump v Harris debate from countless different angles.

That's kind of the point, though. The Trump v Biden debate was a bloodbath, and there was no way to spin it as anything but.
Once he told her to be quiet, and that her own boss doesn't even like her , it was game over. The way she just took that gives 0 confidence that she could ever stand up to a real leader.

Yeah agreed. There was no confidence in future debates or campaigning.
