Hmm
Sweden has been pretty lax on lockdown/social distancing. Their neighbours Denmark have done a lock down. Sweden has almost twice as many dead pr million. 49 vs 91.. So if we just transfer those numbers to the US that would be 16k vs 30k.. I think you might be the ignorant and uninformed one here.
Except the narrative all along has been that most of the country is going to get this no matter what we do, it is just a matter of time. Our lock-down efforts have been to slow the spread and "Flatten the Curve" to help keep our Health Systems from being overrun. Sweden has effectively flattened their curve without lock-downs, and kept a sustainable system that's resulted in much less economic devastation. They don't have a panic about an explosion of cases after re-opening their economy because they never closed it. For all that their current numbers are still way better than many of our states that have implemented full lock-downs, and Sweden does not have benefit of warm weather that seems to have slowed the virus down in other parts of the country.
Maybe I am just a cynic, but it does seem like a lot of people (not saying you) are not as scared about Sweden seeing more deaths, but are actually more frightened that Sweden's approach to this is working.
