You didn't answer my question. I will repost it:

Can you think of any reason that the US might have a higher death count than Iran? Do you think Ayatollah Khomeini is just better at public health policy?

Wait you expect me to answer your dumb ass question, while avoiding mine, nice.

I asked you first...is that really what this going to become. Bickering like children. My question is a fair question. If your premise is that the total number of deaths is a direct metric to how well a country has handled the problem, and how well a country has handled the problem is a reflection of its leadership, then given that Iran has far, far few deaths than the United States, do you conclude that Ayatollah Khomeini is better at public health than Trump?

Lol, you have more than once insulted me. Yet here you are crying about how I am the one acting childish. You are more than gleeful to ignore all the advanced warning we had about the virus and how we were hit much later. You want to discuss how other countries handled this, which was bad, yet they have been willing to take much more aggressive actions to taper the impacts on their countries. Yes absolutely, if we continue to talk about reopening our country, before we have tapered the impact of this virus sufficiently, we will be much worse. We are already trending into that direction.

Our leadership cares much more about the economic impact of a prolonged shut down vs the health of the populace. This was clear when Trump was calling this a hoax. I'm sure very soon this will miraculously disappear.

Trump takes absolutely no responsibility, even though he had a very advanced warning of this pandemic hitting America. I want you to remember that. We have memos that show this multiple times, yet here we are leading the world in deaths. Amazing, I know, the best health care system in the world, is still on pace to be leading the world in deaths capita, yet we are discussing lifting all restrictions. I wonder what that will do to your precious graphs? We have not yet found I reliable treatment for this virus.

Stock markets > health of your nation.

Got anything that shows that?

On pace to exceed Europe.
Continued growth.
Showing growth while the hardest hit European countries are beginning a much harder taper.

All of these show spread and accelerated death rates, while our leaders are discussing reopening the country. The US will also be leading in total deaths world wide in the next 12 hours.

Ok guys I don't want to alarm anyone but I think it's possible that the president is a big retard

Embarrassing. I realise that the presidents most stalwart supporters might not exactly be academic types, I’m don’t understand how anyone could not be completely put off by idiocy like this.

We have a loooong way to go before our case fatality rate catches up to Europe. And our R0 on deaths is almost identical to Europe. By all metrics, we are doing a comparable job to Europe. Yet your premise was that we were doing the worse of any country in the world.

Reopen the country as Trump wants and find out how much worse this can spread.

Ohhhh, so you weren't talking about any real data. Just stuff that might happen in your hypothetical future.

You support spreading a highly contagious disease, no?

Here is the US and Switzerland. Almost identical trajectories.

I googled a list of the countries with best healthcare (left), and plotted them alongside the US. On the right is the deaths per capita over time. The US is the higher of two red North American lines.

Spoilering because they are taking up the whole page.

I'm sorry, but I just don't see this narrative that the US response has been horrible. We seem to fit right in with all the other countries touted for their healthcare systems. Obviously Japan and New Zealand are beautiful outliers. We should definitely figure out what they are doing and learn from them.

just four more years. That’s all guys, then it’ll be over. Just hold on. Everybody hurts, sometimes.
Care to actually give me a thoughtful response or just make a fool of yourself on a chat board ?
