Why do you attack just churches? What about businesses? A "stay at home" order isn't really official, until they lock down EVERYTHING. If you're a deeply religious person, isn't God's house as much as an essential service as say, Walmart?

Most of the world is half stepping this shit. If they want to implement a real lock down, they need to do it full stop, and quit giving certain places a reprieve. No churches, no mosques, no Walmart, no liquor stores, etc, etc. Otherwise, they're just delaying the inevitable, and extending this shit ass period in time.
No liquor stores? They've gotta get dat tax revenue.

Sure, I'd just wish they'd come out and say it, instead of linking it to a mental health crisis, as if making people homeless and desperate isn't a part of the mental health crisis as well. They don't give a fuck about mental health. They want that money.

this is just excuses. But the rest of the world is half stepping.

People need to be able to buy food to live. Thats why somewhere like Walmart is exempt. You will die fairly quickly without it. Churches? not so much.

Yeah, it's a loophole. They're not a grocery store. They're a 15% grocery store. They ain't shutting down their clothing and electronics sections, now are they? How many people are still going there for non-essentials? Quite a bit, I'd imagine.

what were they doing?
3M makes a ton of stuff, probably adhesives, velcro, bits, tapes, etc.

If I had to guess, probably a lot of goods for the construction industry(still considered essential) instead of focusing on their top tier masks. 3M masks are top notch, and I use them around town (had some leftover from a construction project). They're also impossible to source right now.

Id assume that is true. like it or not, they are a huge segment of the populations grocery store though. about 1/3 of the country.

We need to crack down on alot of this stuff. Desantis refused to close beaches for spring break though, so we can start with the REALLY unnecessary stuff and go from there. He is obviously incompetent.

lol. i have a bunch of 3M N95 masks. Grabbed them from my work before things got crazy. I was arguing with @Arkain2K awhile ago and saying the masks werent needed, but i did go find some anyways.

I wonder why they would be making less than their full capacity for masks. It seems like they could command a big price. Lots of profit, marketing, market share, etc. They may have been doing something shady.

And I think it would be fair if they stayed open just for that. By keeping the entirety of their stores open, they're just inviting a funnel of people to go in there for whatever. It's a destructive mutual relationship between them, and a public that doesn't give a fuck.

It's far from an outlier though. EB Games kept their stores open for a big videogame release. They were allowed to do so, because nothing was really stopping them. I'm watching governments from all over the world do the same shit. The only ones who got it right, was India, and they got hammered for it.

The governments of the world have to pick a street. Either this is serious enough to lock down everything, or it ain't. They seem to be quite reluctant to just bring the hammer down. They all talk tough, but that's about it. They're talking out of both sides of their mouth. The more this half stepping bullshit continues, the longer this whole thing will last. Either lock it all down, or tell people to just deal with it. They can't have it both ways.

A bunch of addicts flooding emergency rooms from detoxing wouldn't help much.

Fair point...if they had ever given a shit about addicts of any and all kinds.

Funny how the boozers get a pass, but the heroin/crack/meth/etc addicts will be locked up with no fucks given all the same, and told to just deal with their withdrawal symptoms.

Scary how everyone is moving along like nothing is happening when the US has the second highest infection rates after China. Death rates are starting to ramp up.

Id point out China and south Korea didnt fuck around, and have stopped their infections and are beginning to recover.

The half measures are from weak leadership, plain and simple. They are scared to make decisions, so they do nothing.

You can see how EBgames/ Gamestop should be treated for acting that way. The governor in Pennsylvania pulled their business license. Other staates should review any business who wants to stay open, and do the same to any company trying to game the system. And it should be permanent. If your company decides to put profit over public safety during an epidemic, your company doesnt need ot exist anymore.

It's pretty clear masks help and I think the US will recommend make in public tomorrow. I made one today for when I go shopping as you can't get a real one here now.

I figured I would make a few for friends and called the fabric store to see if they had any 1/4 elastic strapping. Not only are they sold out but their distributor says the US government has requisitioned all their supply of this strapping.

Strange times.

The only issue I have with that, is that they didn't break any laws. If the government says you can technically stay open, then that's on them. People are gonna take what they're given. I don't blame businesses for wanting to stay open, if they're allowed to do so.

To steal a line from "Married With Children"...

"If you give a chimp a gun, and the chimp shoots someone, you don't blame the chimp!"

It looks like they were simply selling to the highest bidder, and letting others suffer. Corporate greed and all that...

Isn't that capitalism? Basically what the GOP/republicans live by?

They chose to do wrong. I have no sympathy for those who endanger others trying to game the system
