The most disappointing aspect of the response has been the function of the medical supply chain. The Federal Gov should have taken the lead from the start on this as the primary coordinator. It's been a clusterfuck from the start, and unfortunately remains so. This should have been treated as a national crisis, and not a state-by-state one. Esp when we've had free travel from the start.

As we have been telling people like you for decades, the federal government cannot respond to these things quickly enough. They are too Bureaucratic. Look how long it takes to get a contract done to even start work. Remember those shovel ready jobs? States should have been more ok the ball like California and Ohio. My state seems to have done well but it could just be my region. My old employer stocked up after Ebola to prepare.

Man.. this is fucking dark. My friends can't say goodbye to their family members, local legends are dying in agony.

I paid all my bills. I know I'm a socialist but I don't ask for anything. I had two great jobs ob top of my entertainment career. I did everything right. Even had two grand in my savings.

It's all gone. I was doing so well in life, daily working on my skills... I've got enough food for two weeks, I lost two 1099 jobs. Now I'm begging the feds for a day of pay a week.

It's not looking good y'all.

I know, it's almost like the UK shifted strategies from doing almost nothing to a pretty stringent (but still not good enough) lockdown, and in so doing reducing the number of forecast deaths.

The facts have changed due to "heavy social distancing" (few exceptions but that's life) because in general the UK are a sensible bunch (Family matters in the UK; working class pride is still a thing, we follow scientific advice from our government); that's drops the predicted death from the scary 500 K to the sad 20K ish.
