Millions of dead? In the US? Nonsense. That would mean India is getting ready to lose 10M+ rather rapidly. I bet you're wrong, but we shall see. It would also mean that China has 25M+ dead. Hmm...
Even with their extreme measures, they'd easily have 5-10M+ dead if we could have had (lmfao) "millions" dead in the US, and they can't hide that from us and satellite imagery and such. We would know. But they don't. And we won't. Couldn't if we tried. Short version: THEY ARE LYING TO YOU.
It is absurd and obscene that they put out that 2.2M+ number. They know it's a lie, and they knew it was a lie when they stated it.
And you can't prove a negative---so when this fizzles out as it warms up, then it will all be due to the crashing of the economy and staying inside like a bunch of obedient lemmings, not because it just fizzled out. And by some "miracle" our efforts will result in few dead, here. Shocker.

The real question I'm left with is why? Stealing money from the market and normal citizens? Proving you can control the people? I don't know, but it's not really about the Wuhan Flu Chinese Virus at this point in my eyes. 10M dead in India or a similar number in China confirmed and I'll eat my crow, I guess. We shall see. I don't like crow and don't expect to be eating any.

What about later in the year, when Trump still hasn't done shit to prepare us?

To be clear, this is vicious (as is the seasonal flu, in fairness) to the elderly and the heavy respiratory aspect makes it even more deadly to that group than the seasonal flu. I have an (extremely to you, I bet) elderly parent and in-laws and I'd rather see them live through this as well. I wish you and yours the best.

Nursing homes (and hospitals, but especially nursing homes) are going to suffer a terrible toll. It's almost to the point where if you have the financial means to pull an elderly loved one from a nursing home and spend even $8,000/month out-of-pocket for their care at your home for say 3 or 4 months, I would recommend doing that. Not sure about the logistics of that, but I'm trying to have someone else explore that possibility right now.

It's not nothing. It's also nothing of the sort of the event that they are hyping it as. For the VAST majority of us.

Again, when 10M are dead by the end of the summer in India and we can ascertain that there are that many dead in China as well, then their numbers (potentially 2.2M+ dead in the US without these measures) will have merit. Until then, this is being "over"-handled as it is, thanks. I feel bad for the tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of small businesses that will never again open their doors. That was an unnecessary and unjustifiable action that will be far worse long-term than this virus.

The unjustifiable actions were performed by Trump through inaction for months, coupled with specific organizational dismantlings in previous years that handicapped our preparedness.

If he was the capable leader of the world's preeminent world power, we could've matched the South Koreans in our per capita testing at the same time they did, and we wouldn't have had to shutter the economy in the first place.

Incompetence has consequences.
 
More and more anecdotal evidence supporting the effectiveness of Hydrochloroquine and Azithromycin as treatment for shortening symptoms and duration of Covid19, it seems.

So did abbott laboratories hire a new sales rep.? That being said I find nothing wrong with this unless I'm missing something. It's 1:30 in the morning now for me so I could be missing something. In the past like his umbrella he seems to want to help. I'm no fan of the guy and hope he loses in the fall but he seems to be helping out?

I don't get people who say that economy would've been fine without lockdowns.

Certain percentage of people who get the virus need hospital care. That percentage includes young and old people. Young people survive the hospital care better and thus the average age of people who have died is high.

However, if all the hospitals are full, then everyone who needs hospital care dies.

At that point, do you think people who have not yet caught the virus would be going about their daily lives as if nothing was wrong? When they know that getting infected has a real good chance of dying since no hospital care is available?

I don't think Average Joe would be going to work / mcdonalds / bar / movies and risk getting infected.

Seoul is 38M above sea level. I think he’s mistaken that for population.
