But everyone will continue to play it up and Americans will continue to beg the state to take their rights in exchange for security over a virus that is fairly weak, with newer models saying the death rate is lower than once thought. I've seen it go down in places like South Korea and Germany, but it appears to have gone up, globally. I think that's probably because a lot of nations aren't keeping up with confirmation of new cases, while they are recording deaths, but it's up to 4.5% globally now.

It's not 4.5% anywhere. This is extremely widespread and the vast majority of people who have it have beaten it and not been tested, ergo not factored into the statistics.
