In short, they were telling everyone to chill out, when the virus had obviously started to spread rapidly. For everything they said it is now, you can find them saying the opposite when it was clear to anyone with eyes that it was getting sketchy.

I'm not even gonna blame them that much, as a full blown pandemic is never really anticipated at the level it should be in the early stages of an outbreak. However, you and people like you are claiming Trump's response wasn't as urgent as it should've been, when the WHO was downplaying it all the same. The people who we count on to be the most informed on these issues, and dictate the pace, were asleep at the wheel all the same.

Before you come at me: Yes, these are op eds. But nonetheless written by educated medical professionals who describe in detail what many of us see around here daily.
