The United States Announces Assistance To Combat the Novel Coronavirus
PRESS STATEMENT

FEBRUARY 7, 2020

This week the State Department has facilitated the transportation of nearly 17.8 tons of donated medical supplies to the Chinese people, including masks, gowns, gauze, respirators, and other vital materials. These donations are a testament to the generosity of the American people.

Today, the United States government is announcing it is prepared to spend up to $100 million in existing funds to assist China and other impacted countries, both directly and through multilateral organizations, to contain and combat the novel coronavirus. This commitment – along with the hundreds of millions generously donated by the American private sector – demonstrates strong U.S. leadership in response to the outbreak.

This assistance only adds to what the United States has done to strengthen health security programs around the world. For the last 20 years, the United States through USAID has invested over one billion dollars to strengthen the capacity of more than 25 countries to prevent, detect, and respond to existing and emerging infectious disease threats. Since 2015, under our commitment to the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA), this support has helped improve surveillance and laboratory systems, risk communication, outbreak response, and address the rising threat of anti-microbial resistance.

The United States is and will remain the world’s most generous donor. We encourage the rest of the world to match our commitment. Working together, we can have a profound impact to contain this growing threat.

Before I start this rant, I will say that I would take a bullet for President Sanders. However, Senator Sanders can fornicate with himself in a van down by the river.

Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez put on a show the past few days. But ended up voting for this largest corporate bail out in the history of all things.

If the bill is so horrible, why did they vote for in favor of it? Sanders got in unemployment for 4 months and nothing else. AOC got a soundbite for her reelection. I know, what else were they supposed to do, right?

What should they do? Admit they made mistakes? Admit they have done this before? Write a song about how they should have never given you idiots money? Should he stop listening to his best-good friend, Joe? That's his best-good friend! They are starting a shrimping business. Maybe they should just disappear.

Since you're doing everything you can to not address the actual topic at hand, I'll ask you about a state of affairs, and you tell me if it's ok.

Your nation is undergoing a pandemic, and the individual states are competing against eachother for medical supplies. These supplies are being price gouged. Many red states are insolvent, and have nowhere near the funds to compete with more better off states. The chamber of commerce does nothing about this, and the White House does nothing about this.

Is failing to manage a disaster response for months, thus necessitating a situation like we're seeing in America, is that a good thing?

Furthermore, is failing to even address the problem for months, thus necessitating the need to shut down large sectors of the economy, is that good management?

The reason is simple the Fed. The Fed will pump 1 trillion a day into the market making whatever Congress does seem meaningless. Nancy Pelosi already said they will meet again for additional stimulus. Wall Street even said it's not enough. 2 trillion not enough in the end the Congress could approve of double that amount.
