I noticed today that my student loan payment didn't automatically go through. So I went in and manually paid it. They said on their site that automatic payments are being placed on hold until Sept 30 and any payments aren't expected until then. Of course that's when the interest suspension is lifted as well.

It's almost like they don't want anyone to pay on their loan during that time because they aren't making money off of it. Fuck that, I'm taking advantage of this time and paying more than usual.
 
So it's looking like people's relief checks won't come for weeks still (possibly May). This is pretty terrible, it needs to get done. Many people are going to be straight fucked by the end of April.

Are you talking about if they get mailed out? I heard it could take as long as you say if people get checks. Supposedly the direct deposits will start in two weeks. Either way, I agree, the delay isn't helping unemployed people very much. People will probably start going back to work in May.

The IRS is saying the direct deposits will start going out in 3 weeks, so some people might see that money in April, if there are no problems (and sending a hundred million payments rapidly can be a nightmare). They've only just finalized the income thresholds that we've all known about for weeks, which is mildly concerning.

I don't even know how to login to my student loan account. I've had it on auto pay for at least a decade and haven't gotten the benefit of student loan interest in years
 
Anyone else watching the real leader Andrew Cuomo? He actually reads, listens to the scientists and tries to understand what he is talking about. What is the mental block in Republicans brains which allows them to not be able to speak coherently on issues outside of guns, religion, and abortion? Is it something in their brains? Anyone have an explanation?

oh and they don’t speak coherently on those issues either but they seem to be able to formulate sentences

Trump failed on every level and he just continues to show his incompetence. Remember when he called Covid 19 the new Russian Hoax?

I'm not sure, but Georgia's Governor just said he only found out asymptomatic people can transmit the virus today. Seriously. And then he announced a shelter in place order (good), starting tomorrow (okay), until the 13th, less than 2 weeks (not good).

The sign language guy for this was also interesting, for the people who like that.

There is no doubt he's using this as his springboard to 2024.

he's doing a good job of it too.
