Florida is going up quite a bit. I guess having the beaches open during Spring Break was not a good idea afterall

which is what they have been doing. They have been pushing for companies to comply, and most have, and many other large industries and small and medium size companies are volunteering to help.

why they don’t want to bring down the hammer and nationalize all industry is bc the industrial business class would lose faith in the system, and would decide to take their business elsewhere. And we’d have a complete and total economic collapse.

that’s a sure fire way to get into mad max type shit.(the very first movie, where society is teetering)
Are you seriously saying that nationalizing a few factories to produce ventilators and masks would cause a complete economic collapse?

Bro the stock market is down like 20% and people are losing their jobs. The damage of banning public gatherings and shutting down states and cities is greater than the damage that would have been nationalizing a few factories 2 months ago..

Why include Germany , they have only 30k cases and only about 150 deaths ?

Why would I not include Germany? I don't understand the point of your question. Maybe I should explain why I crunched those numbers. I did it because I kept hearing anti-American retards in the MSM screeching "Oh my, now the United States has the highest number of cases in the world. Look how horrible we are."

But that is completely misleading. What you have to do is compare population for population. So I decided to take the five highest population countries in Western Europe with a combined population roughly the same as the United States. So now when I compare numbers in the United States to Europe it will be accurate and fair. More meaningful.

And bout Germany.
Germany has 56,202 cases and 403 deaths and their death rate is increasing every day, right now at 0.72%. A few days ago it was 0.5%
Before long Germany might begin to see deaths per day far greater than current. Germany also has a very old population and a constricting age pyramid. This particular virus is brutal on that kind of thing. Germany is not out of the weather. Things could get significantly worse there.

If there is one thing we’ll learn from all this it’s that virtually nobody posting here nor the people whom are their sources know shit about statistics

Pretty dumb to start measuring comparisons so soon

Italy has had weeks of people in their death beds- America is barely a week into the worst of it. Just wait until America starts hitting thousands dead a day

Did a little web scraping with Google sheet today. Here is a self-updating publish-to-web of it. The only way to draw meaningful comparisons of the United States to Europe is to take the top five most populated countries in Western Europe with a combined population of 322 million and THEN draw comparisons to the United States. You have compare population for population, otherwise screeching that the United States has the most cases in the world is just as dumb as saying that literacy is higher in Mississippi than in Vermont because Mississippi has more people who can read.

The media has been displaying a dismal disregard for mathematical perspective. They are either insidiously doing it on purpose or they are a bunch of dumbasses.

I note that in my latest post here. I forgot to note it in that post. Anyway it still doesn't excuse the media of their complete disregard for the notion of PER CAPITA when screeching "Oh my god the United States has the most cases OMG look how bad we are"

Lol you are projecting , I've been right about this all along , I bought masks and stocked up while this was still just in Wuhan .

You're head is still stuck in the sand , Trump shat the bed and now with his plan to ease up on restrictions at Easter he appears to have chronic diarrhea .

I'll ask you again , do you think NY is an outlier or the tip of the iceberg ?

Lol

You are clueless. You blame Orange Man for everything. Meanwhile your leader did EVERYTHING he did but just at a later time

No one cares if you bought a mask. A mask will not cure you of your psychotic TDS.

Again, your dear leader did EVERYTHING Trump did, just took him longer.

Germany has a different way of testing that drastically reduces their numbers. There is an actual thread about it

You really need to research this stuff more dude

like testing earlier and more often? Yeah.

To be fair, that comparison should be between US now and europe as it was 2-3 weeks ago -as the "note" indicates.
Back 2 weeks ago, europe as a whole (not just the top 5 countries) had about 46000 cases, and 1800 dead.

Comparing them today, when Europe has suffered for a while, and the US is in its initial stage, is just as misleading as comparing the death rate today in the US and Norway. Or, say when Italy had few hundred dead and Trump bragged about only having 15 cases.

It is kind of funny everyone screeching like Trump is uniquely incompetent, and acting like they were saying this is a serious crisis all along and that we needed to do these things months ago. Like, I remember the same people saying the same dumb shit Trump was saying just like 2 weeks ago.

Why is adding up the totals of countries who have handled things much differently better than just using one country and using multiplication ?

I would actually love to create a page that does that but there are no source websites with those kinds of numbers. Obviously one thing I could do is create my own data base that records numbers for each day and then once the U.S. has caught up I can create another sheet with that comparison.
