Because nobody has savings due to stagnant wages, shitty temp jobs with no benefits, atrocious healthcare prices, etc. You are only mad because now you are in that position, once we go back to normal you will continue to not give a shit about other people. Fauci has been all over the place for me too. He didn't really come out and advocate a strict shutdown but at the same time he is saying we shouldn't think about going back. I think this is an argument where you have had to choose one side. I was in the camp of a strict 60 day shutdown and return to work as quickly as possible.

I want the economy to open up as well but I wanted to follow countries that have done it right like South Korea. You implement a strict shutdown for a brief period of time. None of this bullshit with companies calling themselves essential when they clearly aren't. Sure you may call me a commie but I'd rather do it the right way and follow what the experts are saying rather than a president who thinks he can do no wrong.

But the things they did you'd be calling communism like isolation, tracing, wearing a mask so then how do you suggest we handle it with minimal loss of life? They didn't shut down the whole economy but they did have very strict isolation for those who were at risk or infected.

I don't think there is any easy way out because Americans will call any kind of rule communism and therefore it will only prolong this thing. Americans just don't like rules even if it benefits society as a whole.
