Law Coronavirus the US GOV'T Response analysis Thread v2

The lockdowns did nothing to stop the spread, they were completely useless and tyrannical. No justification for those. We completely ruined the world economy for nothing.

The "possibly permanent health issues" thing is a hype and borderline fake news. Vast majority of people have either no symptoms or very mild symptoms, and no lasting issues.

According to experts and science, advanced age is the most relevant risk factor. A lot more relevant than any other risk factor by far. Thus, it makes sense for elderly to be bit careful.

The why did the spread slow down during the stay at home orders and why is it spreading at an increased rate now that they're ending?

if we look at the daily death charts in florida, a state that closed late and opened early, it's not immediately apparent when the lockdowns started and stopped

staying indoors is the main method of this virus spreading

Home outbreaks were the dominant category (254 of 318 outbreaks; 79.9%), followed by transport (108; 34.0%; note that many outbreaks involved more than one venue category). Most home outbreaks involved three to five cases. We identified only a single outbreak in an outdoor environment, which involved two cases. Conclusions: All identified outbreaks of three or more cases occurred in an indoor environment, which confirms that sharing indoor space is a major SARS-CoV-2 infection risk.

of course, this wont stop the news from shaming the beachgoers

Seems like a worthless conclusion since most people are indoors even when there is no pandemic.

That could just be a product of time, the virus is going to continue to multiply with time even in a lockdown
Partially. Or it could be a product of a half assed lockdown where most people still travel around. Most new cases in New York were people following the rules, staying home, traveling for necessities.
We’re not mole people. We can’t just go underground and pause the world until coronavirus passes.

This could still be a good argument for stopping large indoor gatherings like crowded restaurants or sports games couldn't it? We saw what happened with cruise ships.
unfortunately, yes.

Adding fans, good ventilation, should help greatly, but not exactly scientific or recommended by anyone.

some sports games are outdoors and risk factors should be very low, indoor sports are usually in very big spaces, so little concern I think.

there's a great visualization by the good folks from Japan that study air stagnation

it's very likely this is how the virus spreads best, stagnant air at the right temperature.
