Buddy, you're in a thread about a bad cop who was allowed to be a bad cop for a long time because he existed in a system that protects bad cops. The call is coming from inside the house mate.

But that's not as bad as the crowd of several dozen officers swarming behind them to help with the clearly unlawful arrest instead of checking their thug coworker

the vast MAJORITY of cops do a decent job of policing a sometimes difficult population.
bad apples? and btw, he wasn't a cop for 'a very long time' either. more like four years.
of course, just like anywhere.

Truth lies in the middle.

There are a lot of bad cops and the system is designed to protect them in order to preserve the image of the precincts. There is a complacency with corruption.

There are good cops. Not a small amount of them either. But there are a lot of chicken shit cops that don't check the bad ones

That's all very nice but let's take my example I posted above. In the clip, out of dozens of cops there, is there one guy that wouldve called out his colleagues on the bogus arrest?

Be real for a second.

90% of the time, they go along to get along.
 
This then contains partial truth, cops do sometimes cover for others acting irresponsibly.

As far as departments behaving in that manner, it depends on location. Maybe in Hicksville USA, a dept

might cover for a POS but in big city depts, there is much more accountability. They will get suspended and fired.

I've seen it and it's a good thing. Public trust in LE is important and should be valued.

No one wants to be a rat, but if cops can expand their viewpoint to include ramifications involved, they need to act.
 
Certainly not here to defend cops across the board.
I can only speak from my personal experience and bad cops were outed in one form or another
and some either got time off and counseling or got shitcanned. But again that was in a big city, where
accountability was a priority.

Which is how it should be.

My brother in Christ...

First, I assume this post was in response to me, correct? You've got reply and quote buttons right there. Use 'em.

Second, whether or not most prospective cops are decent people is completely secondary to my point (I think this is demonstrably false, but I digress). My point is that the system in general, and police unions in particular, are set up to protect bad cops. If you have the wherewithal to understand that law enforcement in this country is in dire need of reform (and, to your credit, I think you do) THAT should be the biggest object of your ire.

Thirdly and finally, this is the only time I've been on dubs the entire time I've posted here, and I got them for being too pro 2nd amendment for the liking of one mod or another.
