Frankie or Aldo is Conor's next fight unless he vacant the FW title.

I say it has more effect on Robbie because it instantly disqualifies his Robbie bid. His RDA bid it doesn't really do much to, because he wasn't going to fight RDA next anyway since RDA pulled. He has a featherweight title obligation. At worst instead of defending his featherweight belt once then fighting RDA he might have to do it twice. Nothing really changes.

Not disagreeing with you but this fight never should've happened. Name one other fighter who wins a belt after beating 4-5 opponents at their own class that gets to move up and challenge for a belt? He hasn't even defended his own belt yet wanted to go after another belt. Screw Conor and his loud mouth I'm p4p best garbage. By that rationale Nate is like 3-4 p4p fighter.

Yeah, this was a terrible outcome for him. Perhaps the IV ban forced his hand to move up to 155, and perhaps he and his coaches liked the RDA match up, but this couldn't have turned out much worse for him, losing to a short notice guy who had lost 3 out of his last 5 and had been dominated by Bendo, RDA, and was knocked out by Thompson. Conor wakes up tomorrow with a very different life than he woke up to this morning. I am not hating on the guy though, he is still a champion with a 13 second ko over the greatest 145er ever.

What? Picked him apart dominantly on the feet? Did you even watch the fight? The first round was close. Then Diaz made Conor his bitch in the second by Stockton slapping the shit out of him until he turned into a desperation wrestler!

Did he truly fight differently or did he just face a man who could take his shots? He said that thing about timing beats speed and precision beats power but realistically anyone can make some semi-profound statement after winning in 13 seconds and nobody can really argue with it at that moment.

I don't know. It felt like it to me. He usually waits on his opponent's strikes and counters and his punches are usually more "fluid." His fight years ago with Brimage, he threw uppercuts effortlessly, whereas in this fight he threw them with everything he had. The fact that Nate could take the shots is definitely a huge contributor though. Seemed Conor was trying way too hard to knock him out early. He was out-striking him pretty easily but throwing everything he had into every shot & he gassed.

If you can't beat Nate the likelihood of you beating the 155 champ goes down significantly. Because it's not like Nate and RDA was close. Nate got straight beat-up in that fight and now Nate just put in work on Conor. It's not really mma math at this point. If you can't beat a title contender the chance of you beating the champ is slim.

I didn't say he could beat RDA, only that perhaps Conor thought he could. I was strongly against Conor moving up and leaving the Edgar fight on the table at 145, but Conor and the UFC wanted the RDA fight. Why? I don't know, which is why I trying to come up with possible reasons for why he would want to fight RDA (who has looked like a killer in his last couple of fights).

Unfortunately it will. True MMA fans will see this as another good fighter loosing but remember that he has an army of bandwagon fans that feel he is unbeatable. It will be interesting to see how many of them will stay around.

For me it makes the Aldo fight interesting as hell.

I agree he usually waits on his opponent's strikes but that was in a division where he knew it was unlikely his opponent could take his shot. We don't know how he would have fought if his past opponents were able to take his shots better.

I think it was the fact that he was nearly KO'd on the feet that made the sub that much easier.
