He looked fantastic in that fight. Haven't seen someone pick apart a Diaz brother on the feet like that so dominantly in a while. Nate clipped him with a good shot though and he just never recovered from it. It happens.

It won't in the rankings, but in terms of casual fan perception it drops a ton.

Nate slapped him a few times, boxed him up, forced him to turn into a wrestler, and then choked him out without a fight.

His stock should drop, he basically gave up when it hit the ground

Except by Bendo and RDA. Of course Diaz had more than 10 days to prep for them lol

His power didn't transfer to that weight. Cruz said that the weight was favorable to Diaz and i agree. He still looked great in the first round.

gassed out into getting rocked into desperation takedown

then, quick tapping to a guy with not even half a camp

The fight was over when Conor took that one to the chin and looked on queer street. Too much time left in the round to be like that against a Diaz. The submission was academic, it could have ended in any way Nate wanted.

Not to mention his stock does drop by way of logic. How can you still make Conor vs RDA for the Lightweight title now? Conor just got rocked hard and choked out by a guy RDA beat the brakes off of just over a year ago.

Downplay much, Brah!?

Because matchups, and the fight wasn't at lightweight. This has much more effect on his Robbie bid than Dos Anjos.

Conor landed a lot of great shots, Diaz just had an amazing chin and landed accurately. I'm a conor fan, but his stock did drop and Diaz just went way up. Nate Bless.

You forgot to mention that the guy with not even half a camp was a guy Conor even hand picked to be his own opponent.

I dunno, this fight makes me think Conor is a fringe top 10 LW at best...

I think this should guarantee his next fight happens at 145. The 155 and 170 plans should be put on hold for a bit. So yes, stock goes down.

Nate is a Lightweight fighter. He hasn't competed at 170lbs in years now. This has more relevance to RDA than Robbie. What this means for Robbie is that Conor couldn't even beat someone who's unranked at 170lbs. What this means for RDA is that someone he beat the tar out of not long ago just finished Conor in the second round after no camp.

Yep. He hits hard for a lightweight or a welterweight but not hard enough to knock Nate Diaz out. And his chin was great as well, but not as good as it is when you get hit by the guy that weighs 145 pounds.

He clearly tired from carrying the extra weight. He's not an unbeatable fighter but he does have awesome striking and he should be able to defend a few times at 145... and possibly challenge at 155 in the future.

It shouldn't fall much because he moved up divisions.
