Conor's stock shouldn't fall too much

I think it was the fact that he was nearly KO'd on the feet that made the sub that much easier.
I don't debate that, just pointing out his obvious weakness on the ground. He doesn't have the power or chin for the bigger fighters, much to many people's chagrin.

I'm not a Conor fan by any stretch of the imagination but I admire risk takers and fighters who show humility in defeat. The only people that will celebrate his loss are people who are afraid of taking risks in their own lives. He made me more of a fan in defeat than any of his wins have, his mentality and approach to fighting are also admirable. There are too few fighters with the anytime, anywhere, any weight mentality. While I'm happy that Diaz won I also hope Conor continues to take risks and makes the necessary adjustments needed to fix the holes in his game.

Not disagreeing with you but this fight never should've happened. Name one other fighter who wins a belt after beating 4-5 opponents at their own class that gets to move up and challenge for a belt? He hasn't even defended his own belt yet wanted to go after another belt. Screw Conor and his loud mouth I'm p4p best garbage. By that rationale Nate is like 3-4 p4p fighter.

The UFC is all about money. Conor is box office, so as long as he was delivering, they were going to let him do whatever. So I'm not surprised he was allowed to fight for a title without defending the one he just won.

I definitely agree that it's the wrong weight class for him, but I don't think him getting subbed that way was any indication of his ground game.

Diaz would have ended it any which way he wanted at that point. McGregor didn't look so bad when he had Diaz on his back, but Diaz simply kept finding his chin the whole fight - even if it took until round 2 for Rogan to notice.

I didn't have any horses in that race so I just enjoyed the fight and saw what happened.

Conor would have faded even harder in the third and fourth rounds. He just can't handle adversity. When the guy he hits doesn't just fall down after a few clean shots he wilts. Guy is a total front runner.

You could be right.

Conor's stock definitely dropped a lot, Conor will have to kill his grand plans and go back to featherweight
