Conor vs Poirier why not Connor vs Gaethje?

He'd KO Justin. People hate Conor.

But It is about time people get reminded how good this dude is.. Then the excuses will pour in again..
I swear 7 years after the Poirier fight (and I know he's improved) but people are still spouting the same shit. There's even a lot of pros picking Poirier who just went the distance with Dan hooker and got got cracked repeatedly in that fight.

I just bumped a thread this morn where I was offered 3-1 on Conor v Aldo and throughout the thread was accused of getting ready to pull out. He pulled out of the bet.

Poirer is the rightful top contender at this point. His only loss in recent memory is Khabib and he bounced back with the Hooker win. He’s a much better win for Connor at this point than Justin would be.

And of course, he has a win over Justin already. Justin just lost quickly to Khabib. And Conors team is more comfortable fighting a guy he already beat.

If Conor Becomes Champ his 1st title defense (If he wants to defend) should be against Either Justin or Oliveria
Justin needs to fight Oliveira in the mean time to determine the true number one contender before chandler knocks out hooker or gets knocked out himself and propelling the winner into a Connor fight

I'd be pretty shocked if Conor does not win this in style.. Matchup wise, this is his fight.. Dustin gets hits, and is a slow starter. He is not a wrestler. He will stand and kickbox with Conor. Dustin is not taller than Conor, with a massive reach edge.. And Conor is maybe the best counter striker ever at LW.. Precise, and powerful. He also has more variety to his stand up.. 1st or 2nd round, he wins by KO or TKO IMO..

Because Conor matches up better against Poirier and Poirier is the second best lw who already finished Justin.

Gaethje changed his style because Donald Cerrone is a non-threat, and Tony Ferguson was hit hard enough to make him back off.

This non-pressure allowed Gaethje to "change his style."

Khabib wasn't going to "allow" Gaethje to do anything. He put the pressure on his ass, made him panic, made him back-up, and made him fight in basically total desperation ... because Khabib knew that Justin was short-winded. Khabib also knew that Justin's "D1 wrestling" wasn't worth two-squirts of piss compared to Khabib's level of total grappling prowess.

In a word, Khabib sonned Justin Gaethje in a way that no amount of time will heal.

Wrong. Gaethje changed his style because he was coming off two losses in a row so he became less of a brawler and started to pick his shots. Before he would get starched. He even admitted this

Sorry haven't posted in a while but why is Conor rematching Poirier other than fighting Gathje? I'm not even excited for the rematch here... Anyone else feel the same?

Justin just got smoked bad wtf? Thoroughly exposed. And that Tony win lost a lot of stock.

Right. You're just not smart enough to read correctly.

Gaethje tried to change his style for Khabib too; the point is he was allowed to do so by the passivity of Cerrone Ferguson.

Khabib didn't allow Gaethje "a slow pace"; Khabib forced a pace upon Gaethje that he had to respond to, but could not deal with.

Please comprehend the point ... which is Khabib's relentless pressure and absolutely ZERO fear of Gaethje's power.

I wasn't responding to the Khabib part of your argument dumbass. You think I was? Yeah Khabib made Gaethje back up when Gaethje is usually a good pressure fighter. What happens when fight an elite grappler.

I was making point how Gaethje toned his pressure after the back to back losses and began to pick his shots. He knocked out Barboza, Cerrone and Vick in the first round.

It was a strategy change. You made the point it was due to his opponents. Not true

Dumbass, Gaethje 2.0 "tried" to start more methodically with Khabib too.

The difference is, the other fighters Gaethje "2.0" faced (Barboza, Cerrone, Ferguson), were backpedaling, fearful, and unwilling to walk through Gaethje "2.0."

The truth is, Gaethje = Gaethje.

He tried to bring the "2.0" version to the Khabib fight; but Khabib's pressure turned him into Gaethje 0.0.

Gaethje after 2018 wasn't the same fighter. His own head coach admitted this. He toned his pressure down after the Alvarez and poirier fights because he lost back to back so he needed a new approach. Now he picks better shots but still brings the pressure. Not that hard to understand bud.

As far as the khabib fight, he was on the retreat but he sure as fuxk wouldn't do this against other opponents

Bull ship.

Gaethje was touted as being "better than ever" coming into this fight.

You're actually agreeing with me, without having the intelligence to realize it..

It's easy to "reinvent yourself" — provided your opponents lack the balls to force the fight on you.

Vick, Barboza, Cerrone, Ferguson all were "fearful" of Gaethje's power and therefore let Gaethje fight at his "newly-learned pace," with the entire game calling Justin "Gaethje 2.0" as a result.

You're failing to give Khabib credit for being levels above all the other pretenders Gaethje faced. Even "Gaethje 1.0" at least came forward looking for a fight.

As I said, Khabib reduced Gaethje to 0.0

Dustin vs Oliveria should be the fight because both of them are coming off a win in their last fight
Yeah I agree but honestly in my scenario of Dustin vs Justin, should have been booked already since Justin didn't really take any real physical damage in the fight. But if they going to keep delaying the fight then Oliveria should definitely be fighting for the belt.
