Conor McGregor has always been a hype job

No was a great fighter.. Can still be again if he puts the work in.. Time will tell..

No he can't, he DID put in the work. He was in awesome shape, but he is done

Once a fighter loses it, it's over

He is nearly 33 and hasn't lived the life. I'm not saying he will be useless, but he will never sniff the heights again

Also he was never great above 145. He had one great win and that's it

Guy is a 9/10 on the mic and that wasn’t even his best ability. Say what you will about Khabib but Conors biggest strength was his ability to cut weight.

He got a lot of hype don't think he was a hype job though his first win against Dustin, beating Max, beating Aldo, beating Alvarez. He has some top quality wins his career

Why are people claiming Max as a good win?
Max at the time was 3-2 in the UFC and was coming of a loss when Conor faced him.
Max LATER became a great fighter. People seem to rate the win on what Max later accomplised.

Of course he is over hyped. It's ridiculous. The touch of death. Haha Bruce Lee shit. He's far from done though. I bet on Poirier, I actually bet half my vcash on him( when can you collect that shit by the way?). Only because the odds were offensive. Conor needs to get back on the horse or retire.

You can hate the guy all you want but you’re kind of shitting on Aldo, Mendes, Eddie, etc. when you say this kind of thing.

Is it not possible to say “I hate that fucking guy but he had some wins over some top guys?”
dude was feasting on small men for a time and since he's stopped being able to make that cut, he's a .5 fighter and 0-2 against division elites

Nah, he was amazing, but he aged really really fast. Happens to dudes that party hard, not good on the body - look at Chuck Liddell

Some other factors: he's a heavy fast starter and often wins really impressively due to that but fades before long; and I don't think his athleticism dependent style does well with aging and taking damage

That wasn't a title eliminator. He already had the title fight booked but Aldo got injured so he wanted to stay busy and Siver stepped up.
Hmm, I don't remember it that way...
It was Siver in January, if he wins he gets Aldo, Aldo got injured then 2 weeks notice Mendes steped in and after all he did get to fight Aldo in December.

I might have messed something up tho.

.... with the UFC giving him opponents that he matches up well with stylistically.
I (and others) have pointed this out years ago buddy.

They weren't necessarily "easy" opponents, but anyone who believes that the UFC didn't protect McGregor through the matchmaking with stylistically safe matchups is in denial.

April and August, 2013
#31 Marcus Brimage - Striker
#70 Max Holloway - Striker (injured, short notice)

July and September, 2014
#32 Diego Brandão - Striker/BJJ
#10 Dustin Poirier - Striker/BJJ

*At this point McGregor was expected to face the winner of Aldo/Mendes, but he chose to remain active instead.

January and July, 2015
#19 Dennis Siver - Striker
#4 Chad Mendes - Wrestler (injured, short notice)

You can examine it a step further and look at how the wrestlers were purposely tied up:

November 2014
#2 Frankie Edgar (wrestler) was booked against #4 Cub Swanson
#6 Ricardo Lamas (wrestler) was booked against #8 Dennis Bermudez (wrestler).

April 2015
#5 Ricardo Lamas (wrestler) was booked against #4 Chad Mendes (wrestler).

May 2015
#2 Frankie Edgar (wrestler) was booked against #4-BW Urijah Faber (wrestler).

If Aldo hadn't gotten injured, it was the UFC's plan to grant McGregor a title shot after having fought only one top ten opponent (who wasn't a wrestler); and during his feud with Diaz the UFC continued tying up his bad matchups at Featherweight until they eventually killed themselves off, which gave McGregor an out to not fighting them.

Additionally, they gifted him a Lightweight title shot in spite of them having been cold on the idea when other champions asked for the same opportunity (Aldo, RDA, etc.). He then goes 1-1 against #7 Nate Diaz (non-wrestler) and receives yet another shot at the Lightweight title, in spite of an undefeated contender being promised it (Nurmagomedov).

The thing is, I don't think McGregor would have turned down those fights at Featherweight, and in all likelihood he would've won, but to pretend like the UFC wasn't protecting McGregor is absurd.

Conor isn’t a hype job and I say that as someone who hates his fans. He’s a legit fighter. Dustin is just an absolute fucking monster at 155. I favor him over anyone not named Khabib.

Lol would you like me to post the wiki of Conor beating Max and Gaethje's ranking?
Sure, and I can post evidence of Anderson Silva losing to Ryo Chonan and Stipe Miocic losing to Stefan Struve, what will that prove tho?

But keep telling yourself whatever helps you cope bro, I imagine last night was very rough for you.
