Conor McGregor has always been a hype job

This is true. Hes like the L Ron Hubbard of mma. Built up with lies, had a legion of brainwashed followers....for years, Canrat had conned the world beating up manlets, and then mouthing off his way into a fight with the king boxing manlet. Nate was right all along. this is what happens when he fights regular size people

Maybe to an extent but his run at FW was one of the most entertaining things in the sport then he went full diva mode.

Only fighter I pick against him @ FW without a second thought is Volka. Volka is a horrible matchup for conor

.... with the UFC giving him opponents that he matches up well with stylistically.
He was great when he was hungry back in 2014-2016 but he start drinking early 2017 waiting his son get born and never stop, that he is paying now. Karma

I don't think it would make sense to conclude that Conor was a hype job after he lost to someone whom he has already beaten.
Conor has always been a hype job. This isn’t a new assessment.

He’s a very talented hype-job. But the hype has always outweighed the talent—by a long shot.

You can hate the guy all you want but you’re kind of shitting on Aldo, Mendes, Eddie, etc. when you say this kind of thing.

Is it not possible to say “I hate that fucking guy but he had some wins over some top guys?”

I'm not saying Conor wasn't good or the opponents he beat weren't good. They were.
But the fame / acknowledgement / reputation as a fighter that he got stood in no relation to reality. It was incredibly disproportionate much like with Ronda Rousey.

I know its part of the show, but it was just a matter of time until he got exposed.

Overhyped sure, but a hungry Connor was a good fighter, there is no denying that.

Nobody denies that. But Anderson Silva he was not... And that guy didn't have as nearly as much fame / hype as Conor.

Had Jose thrown leg kicks, we wouldn't be talking about Conor today

Piss off. GOAT FW run followed by moving upto 170 for two classic fights with Diaz and then destroyed the WW champ to become double champ. He was legit as it gets as a fighter.

Different type of careers to be honest. Anderson Silva was not selling 2 million PPVs and fighitng boxers for 100 million. Different motivations and different eras. Silva proved more, Connor earned more.

Clearly Conor use to be awesome. But iw was also clear that once he got on the mayweather fight and train that he had one sole passion. Money and fame. He didn't have the passion of the fight game anymore otherwise he would have been more active. He still had to talk the talk because he wanted those big pay days still and I assume he spends the money very quickly.

Dude.is pretty much done In the ufc now. He may be able to talk up one more fight but I just can't get past how much he has aged.

But when are people going to raise the hype is to get paid as much as possible and there conor was GOAT in the UFC. Still a brilliant fighter in his prime.

he still beat those guys he beat. The hype grew because he was winning. Can’t deny that fact.

How doesn’t he match up well with Dustin Poirier?

He got a lot of hype don't think he was a hype job though his first win against Dustin, beating Max, beating Aldo, beating Alvarez. He has some top quality wins his career

Yep. Don't get it twisted, Conor has had some great wins. Yeah, he's an 8 minute fighter. Yeah he sucks title defenses like Neo in the matrix. But let's not act like the dude didn't have a great run.
