The nonsensical part was Conor suggesting that maybe she fell in the bath tub and that's why she was so beat up.

She was beaten so badly that the doctors said it was amongst the worst bruising they've ever seen in rape cases. She had a tampon stuck so far up in her that it needed to be surgically removed. Conor's DNA was found all over her, including where the tampon was.
