Conor having bad cardio is a myth

He’s only gassed in ONE fight and that was his first fight moving up 2 weight classes. It’s easily excusable that he gassed in the first Nate fight, he spent almost 2 rounds butchering Nate and trying to finish him. I think he really just wasn’t prepared to go 5 rounds against a cardio machine and thought he would get rid of Nate early, which wasn’t happening so he mentally broke which led to him gassing.

Then he went 5 grueling rounds with Nate and won the rematch. So
what other fight did he gas? The Khabib fight he was getting grappled for 4 rounds which would happen to any one. The Dustin fight he lost mobility in his leg which led to the KO. He even went 10 rounds with Floyd while having a heavy output throughout the fight.

Just watch the Mendes and Nate 2 fights. Conor having horrible cardio is a myth

- He gassed in the Mendes fight, Mendes simply gassed harder.
- Gassed hard as fuck in Diaz 1
- Gassed in Diaz 2 also, faded down the stretch but not as bad
- Porier fight recently, he definitely faded in the 2nd fight, hard.

Someone said it first reply, he definitely has below average, poor cardio. Just a fact. Think about this too, when has he been tested and looked "good" in a long fight? All of his wins were usually 1st round, 2nd round early KOs. We'd have to go back to Holloway because I don't even remember how his cardio looked in that 3 round decision.

But even the he tore his ACL and probably was playing it safer and expending less energy than he would have been. His cardio sucks bro lol.

he has good cardio. His problem is he gets punched and kicked a lot and this slows him down

Here's a quick stat I just thought of and looked up:

McGregor in fights that last 3 rounds or more: 2-1

McGregor in fights that end before 2 full rounds: 8-3

All UFC. And really, the Mendes fight was close to 3 rounds and his opponent aka Mendes, gassed more. The first Diaz fight was almost at a 3rd round and McGregor obviously gassed. The 2nd and 3rd Porier fights, he was fading as time went on. He was gassed in the second one for sure.

So if he simply survived into the 3rd round of Diaz and Porier, instead of being finished, largely because he was gassed, then his record in 3 round+ fights would be 2-3.

McGregor in fights >/= 9 minutes = 3-2

McGregor in fights >/= 7 minutes = 4-3

OP is a troll obviously, but anyone with a brain knows McGregor's cardio sucks. Look at his two recent fights with Porier, his cardio sucked in those fights. He was visibly gassing in the most recent fight imo and it didn't leave the 1st.

His cardio for sure isn't elite, but the flip side of that is that he's super explosive and has stopping power most guys can only dream of. Usually you don't get sprinters who can sprint hard for 5 rounds.

the way he lost the first fight to Nate is not normal, second fight he had a really hard time finishing. Against Floyd he also beat himself by gassing out. Professional boxers are ready to go 12 rounds. Not sure what is the question. If he doesnt have bad cardio then at least he doesnt know hot to manage his output

Na, man. He did not "move up" two classes. He went from cutting an insane amount of weight, and nearly killing himself in the process, to saying 'fuck it' and more or less cutting a couple pounds to get down to 170. He was like 173 or something in the cage that night... literally the easiest cut he has ever done. Literally.

And then he gassed.

HOW DO WE NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT CUTTING IS YET, GUYS?

True welterweights are often cutting from 180-190, down to 170, then hydrating back up to 180-190 the following day, and that is what they enter the cage at. That is what cutting is. Eating light for a couple days and not drinking water for a day, so you lose 3lbs is not what these guys are typically doing. Yes, there are exceptions to the rule like Edgar and Colby, but no, this is not what Connor is doing when he fought Nate. He simply didn't want to worry about being 155, so he fought at the higher class and avoiding even a moderate cut. He was just a lightweight, refusing to cut to 155, to help his cardio, and it didn't work.

if you want to be blind, by all means.

But making asinine excuses to EVERY SINGLE fight he gassed is just you, desperately trying to justify his flaw.

I mean, you claim that the fighter who got a full tank and did not have to cut any weight is at a disadvantage against the guy who was partying in a boat and fought with one week notice??
I mean, baffling at the very least that you think it makes sense!

No it is not, he slows down a lot after about 7-10 minutes. His cardio is clearly below average especially for a LW.

His cardio was crippled by bad knees and the inability to run/jog for long periods.

He likely has good cardio capacity, but running is the king of building cardio in a short amount of time.
it’s only so much battle ropes, biking, and swimming can do for you if your competition (like Diaz) is running marathons and triathlons for the heck of it.

He has not bad cardio its his style he throws power shots

We don't believe you, we have eyes too.

If you really analyze it, Conor not only lacks Champion-level stamina, he lacks Champion-level heart.

The moment Conor 1) starts getting exhausted, and 2) legitimately perceives he can no longer win, he quits.

He will never be the kind of fighter to make an epic comeback, based on sheer guts and willpower.

Won't help his broken leg and scatter-brained approach to fighting, myth or otherwise.

So Conor gassed in his only fight where he didn't have to cut weight? But he got good cardio. LMAO

The bigger and biggest myth of Conor is that he has power. Maybe at FW with IVs he has a little bit of power, but no power at LW.

it's debatable he even gassed in the first nate fight. accumulated damage tends to make you look tired and he was eating a whole lotta shots.

He choked in the first Nate fight.

He basically shit himself when he started getting tired, and got wobbled by two successive Nate Diaz left-crosses ... so he "went for the takedown" as the easy way out ...

So ironic that Conor actually uses the, "The first man to go for a takedown is a bitch," assessment — when he basically invented it. He's right, and he should know <Lmaoo>

Two things.

1. He goes too hard in the first round, putting way too much power into his shots. It leaves him with suffering cardio if he doesn't produce a quick KO.

2. His energy goes fast when he faces adversity.

He also cheats when he gets in trouble, it's like he becomes desperate and will do anything to not be made to look like a loser in people's eyes. The guys a man child, he's probably one of the most insecure celebs I've ever seen.
