Tom should get in camp as soon as possible, the sooner he fights and snatches a win, the greater momentum he will have. A dominant win will squash all talk about Jones and he can then truly build his legacy.

I get it this is NOT Tom's fault but build his legacy against who? Gane? Rematches with the likes of Volkov or Pavlovich. Or Blaydes? Tough sledding ahead at HW..

I don't know why Tom didn't get ready for a camp. UFC could have had a tentative date for Jones/Aspinall and have Tom also prepare for Gane or Almeida if it didn't pan out. Tom not being ready means we get 1 Aspinall fight for 2025. Pretty shitty. He could've had 2 this year had UFC forced Jones or pulled him by an appropriate date.

Jones was pretty open about having 1 or 2 more fights to go in his career when he went up to HW.. He destroyed Gane who Tom likely has to fight next because he is still ranked 2nd.. He always wanted to fight Stipe and injuries got in the way of that.. Jones was going to fight him 1 year earlier but tore his pec. Tom needed this fight because he can't make his legacy off the current crop of HW's.. He knows it.. HW Jones or no Jones is as bad at it was going back to the days of Tim Sylvia..
