I haven't. I never got into the Star Wars stuff outside of the movies. From the way I see it discussed on sherdog, it sounds like I've missed out.

Noob question for you guys. Someone want to give me a synopsis or run down of what exactly Genosha is? I always hear about it in the comics but haven't had much knowledge of origin/what it actually is. I will be reading House of M soon if that helps.

Genosha was like Apartheid era South Africa for mutants.
At first it used mutants' power to help the country but treated them like secondary citizens/slaves. Then there was a revolution -- I forgot how that went down -- and it became a country by the mutants, for the mutants, of the mutants.

Five Ghosts wrapped up today and the ending was absolutely awesome (Lovecraft as a villain!). Glad they're coming back with another miniseries in October.

Issue #6 came out this week. Pretty darn good.

During the Civil War story arc, Tony Stark tries to convince Emma Frost and the X Men to help him. He points out that this would be good publicity following the massacre of the 600 children in Stamford. Emma replies,

"Do you really want to compare genocides, Tony? Where were the Avengers when Genosha happened? Where were you when our babies were burning?"

Sounds good.

Finishing up Batman and the Mad Monk right now. It's better than I was expecting, nice change of scenery compared to what I'm used to with Batman.

Also been laying low on comics lately since I had to write a dreadful Human Resource National Knowledge Exam(it sucked balls). Can't wait to get back into it tonight!

i always thought they should do a comic that explored how galactic level-intermediate level and street levelers think of each other; i remember in certain comics where they showed hints as to how they perceived each other.

wolverine-enemy of the state, daredevil states that all the high level heroes were sloppy and less disciplined than street levelers; due to their higher level of power and durability, they aren't as efficient..or effective because they don't have to be.

in the same arc-wolverine made mention that other heroes thought badly of daredevil and made jokes about his blindness etc.

or in dc i remember in a story w/wonder woman, batman was threatening to go through her; and wonder woman was like you can't go through me..an ur scary voice ain't cutting it either.

and in mult batman stories, etc; people make references to super powered guys not being as efficient skilled or disciplined, deathstroke routinely says that batman hits harder than some superpowered guys and deathstroke and other villains consider batman or other non powered guys as more than a threat than super powered guys.

so i always wanted that aspect of things explored

This looks like a job for...Pedantic Man!:icon_lol:

1)The comment about Heroes who work close to the street being more dangerous than the Heavyweights like Thor etc, is made by Wolverine.

2)Likewise, the comments about other Heroes making fun of DD and cracking jokes about his blindness is also made by Wolverine. However, Wolvie was being mind-controlled by Hydra and the Hand when he made them, so their veracity is highly questionable.

I just finished Batman and the Mad Monk. That seriously has to be one of the lamest most half assed ending in comic book/story telling history. Wow that was dumb lol.

Anyone else read this before?

It sometimes saddens me, knowing that only the internet is where I can find people to discuss great comics and all around literature. Even my nerd friends don't read comics or manga, they rather watch the anime's and play games. Sucks I can't just have a discussion about great pieces such as 1602, Marvel, Kingdom Come, or any other work that hasn't been adapted into a movie yet.

To be honest, I think youd love this novel.. Spans 60 years and its just this slow methodical build of political backstabbing and playing different factions off against each other as pawns.. All the while done in the shadows by a Sith Lord..

Probably one if the best Star Wars books ive read and just an all around great book in general.. Very in depth to the Star Wars mythos..
