Idk if you guys are reading Thanos Rising but that comic is fucking tight

Do you think I should read X-men vs Avengers?

Yeah.

1. Its a decent read

2. A lot of the current Marvel Universe is determined by the things that happened.

what are some good marvel "stories" to read that can be summed up.

I loved Civil War, and currently reading Planet Hulk

Thor God of Thunger #10

I loved Planet Hulk. World War was a let down after it but still ok.

Thor: GoT is about the only Marvel Now title I really enjoy.

Day late and a dollar short, but I am really getting into the Marvels Ultimate Universe. I hope they decide to expand it once more after the Marvel Now hoopla dies down. Ultimate comics are a lot less congested.

can you guys recommend some comics for me? I've never really read comics and want to start getting into it. Preferably Marvel, but I'm willing to try new things. Thanks.

Punisher (Including Punisher: War Journal and a few other spin-offs. Most are good, really.) - Marvel
The Authority (1999 up to 2008) - Wildstorm
Watchmen - DC
Transmetropolitan - DC
Batman: Arkham Asylum - DC
Batman: No Mans Land - DC
Zenith - 2000 AD
Sandman - Vertigo
Hellblazer (Some stories are good, some aren't. Only storyline that blew my mind was Original Sins, right in the beginning of the series) - Vertigo
Aliens - Dark Horse Comics
Hellboy - Dark Horse Comics
Preacher - Vertigo
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, 300, Ronin and so on - DC

Personally I've rarely found any X-Men/Spiderman/Avengers/Superman etc stories I've liked. I'm more into the stuff listed above. Of course, a lot of people would probably argue that X-Men and Spiderman are awesome, and that the stuff I've listed is crap. You'll have to decide for yourself.

A few "mainstream" comics I've enjoyed are the Marvel Civil War storyline, and some of the later Wolverine and Captain America comics. The Transformers (Marvel, 1984-1991) was actually pretty good for the last 20 issues or so, too. Or maybe I'm just being nostalgic.

If you want to go arty-farty, you could always check out a couple of old Metal Hurlant albums. Varying quality, but a lot of it is interesting.

I would pick up some of the Valiant trades. Most of the titles are just a year old now and the Vol 1 trades are only $10 each. I like them all. Archer and Armstrong is my #1 book followed by XO-Manowar and Bloodshot.

Only Marvel I'm reading right now is Guardians of The Galaxy and Thanos Rising.

You're reading Harbinger too, right? I mean it's in a crossover with Bloodshot. You have to be reading it as well... right? :icon_neut

And I just finished up the Five Weapons miniseries from Image. It was enjoyable, but I definitely expected a lot more violence given the premise.

When the world's deadliest, stealthiest, and most infamous assassins need a place to educate their children, an institution that respects and upholds their values, they turn to the prestigious School of Five Weapons. At the setting of the new Image Comics/Shadowline mini-series by Jimmie Robinson (BOMB QUEEN), FIVE WEAPONS, students train in the martial arts, pledging their loyalty to one "club": Knives, Staves, Archery, Exotics, and Guns.

The School of Five Weapons is turned upside down when a new student arrives, one carrying a name that all the students and teachers know: Shainline. The clubs vie for Tyler's loyalty, but it becomes apparent very quickly that this kid isn't someone who is easy to pin down. Tyler has just the edge he needs to succeed at Five Weapons

I'm reading them all :) . My pull list says Valiant Universe. I like the whole crossover Valiant is doing with Harbinger and Bloodshot. Other than Valiant I'm reading Jupiter's Legacy, Helheim, Guardians of The Galaxy, Thanos Rising, Aquaman, Batman, Superman Unchained, Justice League, Justice League America, and Constantine. I will probably drop the Justice League and Justice League America after the Trinity War crossover.

I'm also reading The Sixth Gun and The Legend Of Oz: Wicked West in trade.

Does anyone know how to get comics onto a tablet from Windows? I'm trying to use ComicRack but whenever I try to transfer any comics it keeps rejecting it and says: 1 is not a supported code page. parameter name codepage

I wonder what Hulk's body count is? Gotta be enough to put him away for a long time, right?

Finished the Thanos Quest today, and am finally digging into the Infinity Gauntlet.

The Thanos Quest had a fair amount of humor from Thanos, which I was not expecting. It was an excellent read.

I haven't read any comics for about 7 years now. I have bought them for my kids, just not myself. I took them to the local comic book store, and wound up getting several things for me.

I also got Essential Iron Man volume 1. Why? Iron Man was my favorite hero back in the early 70s, other than the Fantastic Four, that is. I loved George Tuska's run on Iron Man. I will say that after thumbing through this volume of Essential Iron Man, Don Heck's artwork was more than solid. There are even an issue or two where Jack Kirby did the layouts for Heck to follow, so he could do the "Marvel House Style," meaning so he could ape Kirby's storytelling.

How is Talon? I'm just starting to get into 52 reading Batman and Robin which is the best non-otherworld Batman comic I've read in a long while. Just started Volume 2 and The Court of Owls are pretty bad ass but I know nothing about them. Is Talon one of their members? Is it worth reading?
