This is why ive avoided posting in forums for quite a while now. Thanks for the help retard.

Lol sorry man. I have no knowledge on the topic, and I'm sure you want personal opinions but maybe try google or a comic forum. Best of luck though, seriously. I'm sure there are a few people around here that can help you.

Amazon sells it in trade paper back in 5 volumes. There is a prelude book and then volumes 1-4 of the complete epic, or so they claim. I haven't read it yet myself, so I cannot vouch for its completeness or quality. I would check out the reviews on Amazon though. I plan on reading the complete Age of Apocalypse saga this summer.

Read Wanted. That shit sucked. A lot.

Anyways, been looking for this series for a while, something about sins, or whatever, and it's dystopian in nature. They were thinking of making a film or television adaption about it, but for the life of me I can't remember the title.

Da fuck?!

Wanted is one of the best comics ever written. It completely subverts the entire genre; the Bad Guys won. There are no Heroes left to save the day. The simplicity of the concept, that all our Comic Book Superheroes actually were real until the Super Villains slaughtered them and wiped our memories, is breathtaking.

The final splash page alone is worth the price of the comic. Anyone who finds it too dark or cynical should go and read another Batman comic where he uses Prep Time to make God his prison bitch. Again.

Im just getting back into comics again and im wanting to read the Onslaught storyline. Anyone know where to start?

If you're just getting back into Comics, there are far better story arcs to read than Onslaught. It was poorly received at the time, and deservedly so, IMHO.

Does anyone here still have the link to the drawings of Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash etc. done as walruses? Google isn't coming up with anything.

There was no good guys, they already died, so I didn't have a vested interest them. It was just a bunch of assholes, against a bunch of assholes, to see who had the right to be the ultimate assholes. It went nowhere, and the last issue was just so fucking weak.

The writer was just trying so hard, it all felt forced.

that's a quick way to get right back out of comics.

if you want to read x-men, just pick up whedon's astonishing x-men in trades.

I think it's a little sad I'm now part of "that" generation. I remember scoffing during a chat with John Byrne about Garth Ennis, whom he actually equated to scrawl on the wall of a little boy's room, and now I'm kinda of doing it with Millar and WANTED. Man I feel old.

Speaking of which, and maybe this is more appropriate for the manga thread -- I read the last issue of BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL and it's bittersweet for sure. I didn't realize it till recently, but this is the comic book of my life. It started roughly 19 years ago, and I remember picking it up on a whim. I suppose this was the height of my comic book reading days. As time flew by and my love of comics waned, BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL still stood strong. I diligently bought the books, suffered the death of grand translator Toren Smith, and eventually found the translated mangascans that arrived much faster than the official counterparts (I will still buy the books, however). Now BLADE has ended and truly I'm not sure if there's any other book I'll go and get; I sincerely doubt there will be a serial I could follow as readily.

I don't know if I can say BLADE is better than LONE WOLF AND CUB, but it certainly speaks to my aesthetics more effectively. I loved its anachronistic sensibilities and ultra violence. And the sketchy line. The magnificent hands and feet he drew, and the lithe bodies. More than anything I loved how round and full every single character was. They all had arcs, laughs, loves. Cool moments. Despicable ones. People could agree with villains and disagree with heroes. You felt for them and they seemed alive. Irascible. Hard to like but easy to love. Simple to admire from afar.

It was a great ride.

The Bad Guys are often more interesting than the Good Guys anyway; Wanted just took that to it's logical conclusion.

i haven't read wanted but i totally agree. the comic book market is saturated on good guys. i know they have done it, but it is still much fresher to tell a comic from the bad guy's perspective and find out he isn't all bad. or have the bad guy win one.

Not sure if this has been posted:

Marvel's best villains have been neutered/ruined. Magneto has flipped more times than Nadia Comăneci. Namor's ruined as a villain. Loki is wishy washy. Even Doom has lost some of his luster. The Doom min-series started off amazing, a great opportunity to give Victor a W but nooooooo,
they had to invent some magical quantum physics so T'Challa could win. boring and bullshit.

So Geoff John's final issue as Green Lantern writer is coming out this week. I really want to get it but it's $8. I'd grab it without hesitation if I had more money.

What do you suggest then? I just enjoy big stupid villians like Onslaught that destroy the Universe and its heroes. Shallow, I know. I just got done reading the Infinity Gaunlet and decided to give Onslaught a try.

Have you read Annihilation Wave? >> Onslaught. But if that is your think then give it a try.

Go to post #2 to #5 for my recommendations.

Try COSMIC ODYSSEY also, it's one of the best epic cosmic stories:
