spider man would crush Bats within 10 seconds..

its a non fight.. Spider man does everything better..

Like fighting crime and solving mystery's? No way.

no no youre correct, spider man is a cab driver, never once solved a crime or helped fight crime on any conceivable level... :D

If Spidey let lose for 10 seconds Bruce is in the grave.. actually 1 punch is enough to turn Bruce into a puddle of goo....

I have browsed through Superman vs Doomsday and will never read a single Superman comic ever again. This guy's basically a walking encyclopedia of superpowers. His powers are listed as:
-Flight
-Invulnerability
-Superhuman Strength
-Superhuman Speed
-Super vision, consisting of:
-X-Ray Vision
-Telescopic/Microscopic Vision
-Heat Vision
-Infrared Vision
-Super-hearing
-Super Breath (including Freeze Breath)
-Eidetic memory
-Longevity
-Super Olfaction
-Enhanced Lung Capacity
-Telekinesis

With all these powers on hand, how does he even lose a fight? He faces Doomsdays, who has basically the same powers as the Hulk (DC fans will all disagree though), and yet Superman decides to pit muscles with him? What happened to his super-speed? Doomsday is fast but by no mean as fast as super-speed. Couldn't Supes have just zipped below Doomsday and punch his balls and fry his bananas? Couldn't he have taken a cue from them Dragonball Z comics and fight with both strength and speed? What didn't he use much of his other powers? Did his bright red underwear further enrage Doomsday like in a bullfight? Does he have a secret death wish? Is he tired of saving the world (aka America)? Is he finally embarrassed of his losses to Batman?

I'll just say this, you read a story written 23 years ago that isn't really considered to be the most deep Superman story and will never read anything of that character again? If that's gonna be your basis you're gonna drop a lot of characters, they all have at least one bad story

it's in the comics, if you would like I could give you a list of iconic DC stories, I'm pretty sure you have never heard of or bothered to look up

Wait wat? How iconic can these stories be if most comic fans have never heard of them?

I think everyone should have

Kingdom Come
Batman Year One
All-Star Superman
Watchmen (One of these kids is not like the others.)
The Dark Knight Returns

after that my personal favs

The Judas Contract
The Terror of Trigon
Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow
For The Man Who Has Everything
A Death in the Family
Joker Graphic Novel

So other than two Teen Titans arcs, it's a Superman and Batman show.

why aint you guys counting vertigo

if so

rip marverl

your first question, casuals sometimes don't know about them, didn't know if he was a casual or not, he proved to me otherwise

2nd, I said I could have gone on, I'll admit it's Superman/Batman heavy, but I can easily throw in some others

well duh! Sadly though, DC's management has not marketed them enough, but yes Sandman, Y The Last Man, 100 Bullets, Fables, and Hellblazer is a killer row

You are still wrong in that spiderman does "everithing" better than Batman.

Batman still is a better detective, tactician, Bruce maybe a jerk sometimes but his opinion is respected in the JLA, Peter is like that nice guy everyone likes whose opinion holds no real weight in the avengers.

fine, I can live knowing Bruce does those 2 things better than Pete, other than that Pete owns Bruce 24/7.

He doesnt have telekinesis (but then again you are trolling).

Now about 90% of the powers you mention dont help him at all against Doomsday.
-Super olfation to smell DD underwear
-Enhanced Lung Capacity or beat him at a holding breath contest.
-X ray or play doctor with him.
-Super-hearing to hear DD problems.

-Super breath and heat vision was useless against DD (just like Bizarro during the Byrne reboot) he was pretty much inmune to both.

-Invulnerability- He still can be hurt by guys stronger than him, see picture.

That leaves flight, speed and strength.

Flight gives a him a tactical advantage but not really anithing else, the problem was any time Superman was not fighting him in close quarters, DD was happy killing people in his rampage, so the whole Superman could fly 1 mile over him argument peple sometimes use is useless, even the hit and run thing (as you pointed up DD has super speed too so no one was really safe cause people outrunning him was not and option).

Strenght DD was his equal.

That leaves speed wich not only would I give you credit for that but is a overlooked aspect in american comics, the Flash should basically be the god of comics but is not.

Also to DD advantages he was like Superman on PCP, he seemed to not be bothered by pain, fear.

DC is higher quality over Marvel??? lol, since when????

Marvel is always the innovators and have basically led the comic book industry on average as number 1 for decades.

Thats not really true, its a misconception people carry from the 60s when they really shaked the industry, but since then both companies have their fair share of pusging boundaries.

In fact the last "big" shake up in the comic world was led by DC in the 80swith Swamp Thing (and everithing Moore did), TDKR, Crisis on Infinite earths, etc. Swamp Thing and Animal pretty much created their own imprint (Vertigo) .

Even things like the Ultimates or what was called Nu Marvel in the early 2000's were the same concepts we have seen of wide screen action and decompresion of the genre done by books like the authority, wildcats vol 2 (published by wildstorm wich were DC bookS). The ultimate line in general is similar to the post crisis revamps characters got in their origins.

So I started reading Remender's Uncanny X-Force, which is the first X-Men book I've ever actually read, and it's pretty sweet so far. I love the idea of a black ops team of mutants who are willing to kill. And Archangel is all kinds of bad ass.

For real? Nothing from the Claremont/Byrne run? X-Tinction Agenda? Age of Apocalypse? These are some of the most epic runs in comic book history.

I loved the shit out of the X-Men cartoon as a kid. And the first two movies were good, but I've never really been interested in reading any mutant titles until now.

I can't imagine anybody not loving Giant Sized X-Men #1 thru John Byrne's run (even farther tbh).

X-Tinction Agenda set the bar for comic book crossovers and Age of Apocalypse met or exceeded that. They are the crossovers every Marvel crossover aspires to be (but fails miserably).

I give them my highest recommendation.
