Go to post #2 to #5 for my recommendations.

Try COSMIC ODYSSEY also, it's one of the best epic cosmic stories:

werd, Mignola's art is phenomenal in this epic story

I'm on it

*calls Rob Lief................I mean Bob Harass*

lol, I just grabbed it up on Amazon, apparently a "mint, never read" edition.

Pumped. I haven't read an epic DC book since Kingdom Come.

Finally read issue #30 of Chew

Why Toni!?!?!?!? Why did it have to be her?!?!?

i just finished chapter 4 of prophet and its good stuff. the living dolmantle and star skin are pretty original and innovative sci-fi gear. chief if you haven't seen Oblivion yet i would recommend it. it got mediocre reviews which i don't understand but is similiar in style to prophet and was a fun flick.

Thats the problem with digital comics. DC should have put a few thousand parademons on that project.

here is another example how Marvel leads the industry.. they crush in the digital comics department and DC's graphic novel department sucks.. Takes almost 2 plus years for soft covers to come out. Marvels fly out very quickly.

DC drops the ball once again, its why they will always be #2.. they have their moments but Marvel is consistently #1. for good reasons.

Marvel's best villains have been neutered/ruined. Magneto has flipped more times than Nadia Comăneci. Namor's ruined as a villain. Loki is wishy washy. Even Doom has lost some of his luster. The Doom min-series started off amazing, a great opportunity to give Victor a W but nooooooo,
they had to invent some magical quantum physics so T'Challa could win. boring and bullshit.

I agree with Magneto, the guy is annoying and needs to be killed.. Who would tolerate the crap he's pulled.. Its what makes the X-men soft IMO, sure the Avengers took in some unsavory folks now and again but magneto is a child murdering terrorist...

if I was on the avengers id put the Xmen down also... Just send in Thor he finishes them all off instantly.

that's why they had to send Thor into space during AvX... with thor in play he finishes the xmen on his own. 1 hammer throw kills 80% of the team.

So true. Superman and Batman literally carry DC on their backs.

truth is as a comics fan I love DC but they drp the ball a lot...

digital comics is the future and of course DC failed to get in on the ground floor, they let Marvel take control once again, and their graphic novels, especially for their A list characters take waaaaaay to long to come out...

Snyders Batman took 2 plus years to drop on softcover... by that time im over it.

I already own the new Xforce in soft cover, that book started like 6 months ago and its already out in soft cover.. DC blows.

To be fair I had to order the Dr Strange/ Dr Doom in hardcover from amazon. None of the local stores had it either and that is a must read.

And it's the same with movies: Dark Knight Rises was supposed to be the biggest movie of last year, with everything else competing for second place. In reality, it was Avengers by Arm Bar; DKR was bloated and took itself far too seriously(The Dark Knight was prime, motivated Batman with that look in his eyes:wink:).

ya that is something I could understand, not all local shops carry every graphic novel though..

I use Amazon as well, amazing deals...

and can you tell me about this strange-doom novel... I don't know what this is.

Yes, I'm also curious!

.

To be fair, Thor finishes about 80% of most comic characters. When he came back from the dead, he pimp-slapped Iron Man for cloning him without his permission. Shrugged off Iron Man's repulsor rays without breaking a sweat.

Iron Man(after Thor punches him through a house)"You've been...working out."

Thor, "No, there is only one difference. In this time and this place, I am no longer holding back."

i'm considering dropping uncanny, all-new, and avengers. i have been thinking about it and i see bendis's x-titles going the way of the Siege story-line a few years ago. hero vs hero with a bunch of b list fillers you have been forced to read about for a year or so who end up being sacrificial lambs so that some huge, epic, money grabbing crossover event can feel like it had great consequences on the marvel universe i.e. sentry and ares dying. the only difference is sentry and ares were mildly interesting and bendis's new characters aren't. same goes for hickman's avengers. look for most of the filler characters to die in the infinity event. end rant.

The Savage Axe of Ares is a pretty sweet comic. Shame they only put out one issue.
