I read Uber 0 and liked it. Haven't read 1 yet. But in other news a new issue of Prophet came out this week and it was great of course.
cool. i may be getting ahead of myself but i'm calling zack snyder to direct an UBER movie. is prophet in trades yet?

another avatar title that sounds interesting is Extinction Parade by Max Brooks author of World War Z. it is of course about a zombie apocalypse scenario but has a twist with vampires helping humanity to fight off the zombie plague because we are their food source. it sounds a little cliche' and like it may have been done already but i can't think of an example. kinda pisses me off i didn't think of it. :icon_sad:

You should check out Five Ghosts too if you haven't already. Only two issues so far but it's a lot of fun.

kinda weird i haven't heard of this or seen any solicits, the only image book i am reading right now is twd though and it usually pushes other skybound products. sounds fun and the art is sweet.

the art reminds me of Scalera(first name?)he did most of remenders secret avengers and is taking over on indestructable hulk soon.

FYI, I don't but the hardcover ones and they have stood up for years. You might be able to save some coin that way.

I think I only paid something like 25$ for this quite some time ago. Love how it feels though, might continue to pay for the hardcover volumes just to have them all match

I'm OCD like that, too bro. :icon_neut

i'm guessing the 1st volume is required reading for hellboy but outside of that are there any stand out trades i should look into. the big 2 and image trades are 50% off and other companies like dark horse will be 60% off so i'm open to suggestions.:D

if anyone here lives near Baltimore check out www.cardscomicsandcollectibles.com. i have comic shops closer to me but these guys have been having crazy weekend sales all month. i'm spending alot of money but the deals are so good i can't stop myself.:icon_cry2

just finished The Ballad of Halo Jones and loved it. started off pretty goofy and comical, and ended nice and serious. good character arc for halo, and great supporting characters and settings. at the beginning it was tough to follow along with all of the future slang moore was using, but as always you get used to it pretty quickly. more great, weird sci-fi from 2000 AD, i just wish it was longer (that's what she said).

Recommending an arc of Hellboy is like recommending a chapter of a book.
Some of it might seem independent but you will either not get references or misunderstand the circumstances. Its ongoing, there are a few recurring "villains" but there stories are running tangentially to HB's.

I obviously follow the books and even I have had to refresh now and then because the arcs would come out so infrequently. A character who was prominent or just hinted at in one arc might not even reappear or be referenced for 2 or 3 arcs.

Its best just to read it thru. You won't be disappointed until the very last chapter (even that was critically acclaimed I was just underwhelmed by the depth of the story)

Just caught up, this is great. Art reminds me of Walt Simonson.

The creators started a kickstarter to get the comic going. Glad they got enough money to make it cause it's solid. Wish I could find more comics similar to this one.

is that the one greg pak wrote. i've been wanting to check it out and my lcs is having a 50% off sale this weekend so i may pick it up.

That's the one, yeah. The ironic thing is, it's Parental Advisory, not Marvel Max. So there's not a huge amount of violence when compared to the average Punisher story, for example. It's Schmidt's psychological journey into the heart of darkness, what he gives up in his quest for power, that make it so harrowing. And, of course, the fact that it features Hitler's rise to power in the real world.

"Thousands of ordinary Germans opposed Hitler's dictatorship and genocide.

They paid with their lives.

But thousands more followed Hitler to the bitter end.

They paid with their souls."
