red son was an interesting concept and actually the only dc comic i have read in years other than recently reading preacher which i guess isn't dc proper. i am a marvel fan above all else but without superman you have to wonder if superhero comics would even exist.

i recently bought infinity gauntet and the infinity crusade tpbs and i was wondering where does infinity war fit in.

Can't recommend this comic enough if you're in the mood for crazy, epic sci-fi awesomeness.

Has Doom and Namor ever gone head to head?

I don't think they've ever fought, but they have teamed up on a few occasions.

They both respect each other's power as well as the responsibility of being a monarch.

weak, the real Vic Von Doom would have gave him the stink palm

I'm being attacked here, but I have never said anything about Byrne's FF run, I haven't read it so I can't judge it, you must be thinking of someone else

Well shit, Prod. Sorry!

One of the regulars stated that they didn't feel that Byrne's FF run does not belong in the recommended reading list because of his stilted writing style.

actually, chances are I would love his FF run, I've always liked Byrnes stuff

Byrne's run was amazing, and his art work back then was amazing.

So many epic stories in that run.

I disagree with you re: She-Hulk. You don't trade Ben for Jen. Sorry. I stopped reading it when that happened.

Even tho Prod doesn't agree, I have to include John Byrne's entire Fantastic Four run. It was an incredible ride, even if he booted the Thing out of the FF for awhile. Byrne made She-Hulk a great character.

Totally agree! I raided my local 7-11 everyday until the next issues were in! They got tired of me, but I was a paying customer so they couldn't say jack!

looks cool, thought it was Akira at first.

I just read whatever I can find at the Library. Just got done reading Batman R.I.P hated it made little to no sense but I never read any of the other connected stories before it. Currently reading Batman : Return of Bruce Wayne, and I'm enjoying this one much more. Just a really cool concept of Batman in different eras.

Fuck yea comics. But I can't believe you don't have Superman: Red Son as a recommendation, Dragon. Absolutely despicable..... despicable!

I'm really hoping DC Animation will hurry up and make an animated feature of this already.

Is there a better origin story than Barry Windsor-Smith's WEAPON X?

I dare you try.

^ Can't be topped. The art, the amazing story that was released bit by bit and was still able to leave so much open territory....sigh, they should have left it there.

I will say a second favorite of mine, not necessarily 2nd place is Mr. Sinister's origin, in The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Jean Grey.

Just read Sledgehammer 44. While I liked it, but both the art and story reminded of some of the early Atomic Robo issues wherein Robo is fighting Nazis. I'm only a casual reader of the Hellboy mythos so I'm sure I'm missing out on some things but I'm not sure I'd pick up issues if this were an ongoing series.

this actually makes since and is one of the reasons i like namor. is he a good bad guy or a bad good guy? he is realistic in that he isn't a black and white character and that makes him unpredictable and fun. Imperious Rex!!!

I agree. Sinister's origin was done very well.

THANOS QUEST the two parter where he acquires the Soul Gems?

Is it common knowledge that hitler in the marvel universe was killed by jim hammond aka the original human torch. i have been really interested in marvel's golden age and recently ran across a cap line in remender's secret avengers saying jim received a medal for it. the funny part was that venom aka flash thompson a war hero also didn't know who jim was. so does that mean it was covered up for some reason?
