Coin toss, slim chance and a hope in hell. Do you agree?

Ilia vs Arman is a coin toss. If Arman is smart (which he clearly is not outside the cage), he should be able to outwrestle and outgrapple Topuria, even just by sheer strength (I actually think he’s better in both areas). Still, he hasn’t shown to be particularly dangerous with submissions or GnP. On the ground, he should look for positions that make Ilia fatigue his arms defending, or armbar, americana, kimura... attempts (even if not locked) that punish his shoulders and elbows to steal his speed and power.
But Ilia only needs one combination to land a clean shot before that happens.

Ilia would have slim chances against Islam at 155.
If Islam gets overconfident with his MT, see above. But Islam’s striking is much better than Arman’s, has longer reach, is a southpaw, has more takedown tools, and is a threat both with GnP and submissions. He’s also considerably stronger.
At WW, Ilia wouldn’t stand a chance simply due to size: he doesn’t belong in that division.

Alex vs Gane is a coin toss. Gane is exceptionally athletic and, though a bit pillow-fisted for his division, he’s still a beast. Even if they’d weigh about the same in a potential fight, their muscular maturity is very different: Alex was fighting at 185 just two and a half years ago.
On the other hand, Alex is a much better kickboxer, and his power would translate to HW.

Alex would have a hope in hell against Tom. Tom is, in my opinion, the most dangerous MMA fighter in the world: significantly bigger, much younger, and a threat in every area of the fight.

Thoughts?

Poatan smokes Tom.

Top is just a little man with big dreams.

I agree with these except for maybe illia vs Islam. He has more than a slim chance against Islam. Either a coin toss or a slight favor for Islam imo

What in the world does "muscular maturity" mean? Is that just an awkward way of saying Gane is more muscled and stronger?

#1 contender at LW. Newly minted champion outright refuses to fight him. Claims he would vacate if the UFC insisted he fight Arman.

How is that not scared?

lol at believing that
He’s just playing the game
He said he wouldn’t want to be matched up with him cuz he’s unreliable to show up
He called out all the contenders after be beat Oliveira in the cage

When was Arman ever offered the fight?
He was iced out by Dana, that’s why fighters have been dismissing him in the media
If he beats Hooker he will get his shot

I repeat, no fighter in the division is scared of Arman, lol

Ilia KO's Carmen.

I don't believe Ilia would be able to avoid Islam's grappling and disengage the way he did against Olives. Islam wouldn't be playing guard or bottom game and he wouldn't be going for leg locks. Ilia could KO him if he connects (duh), but I think Islam is too strategic for that and would avoid risky exchanges on the feet. Tough fight for Ilia. I'd certainly pick Islam to win that one with his grappling, whether it be a finish or decision.

Chama could beat Gane. I don't think he'd have to worry about being taken down, so he can focus on striking. Gane is accurate and athletic, but he doesn't possess teh touch of living death. AP by KO.

I think Tom is a bad match for Chama. Tom has the grappling threat, and also possesses KO power and speed. Although Alex's grappling defense is good (I'd even say underrated), I haven't seen him against a well rounded, elite HW yet. Gotta go with Tom. Sorry Chama.

I think we kinda agree on most of these.

Sure if you believe that. Makes sense to claim you will fight an unranked guy but declare you will not fight the #1 contender. That sure looks like a duck and quacks like a duck but it isn't a duck???

Toppy could have said I don't see Dana booking this guy until he proves he is reliable but I will fight anyone, I am not scared. He didn't say anything remotely like that. He declared "If I'm the world champion, I'm never gonna give him a chance," Topuria said. "I will be like, 'Listen if that's the case, take my belt. I don't do it."

He also refused to fight him for a #1 contender at LW prior to Islam vacating. Makes a lot of declarations about not fighitng a guy that he isn't scared of.
