Movies Cobra (1986)

My favourite part is near the start where he intimidates the Mexican gangsters by ripping the guys shirt after knocking his cigarette out

Then the gangsta calls him some names like Pinche and kicks Stallone's car after which the others congratulate him for being such a badass.

That vato was wired up for some reason. Lol.

But I was a major fan of this song and the scene.

I see that it has already been posted but it’s such a great scene, it deserves a second post.

It's a great song and a great montage. David Rasche was one of the underappreciated character actors of the 80s. Played a great sleaze photographer in Cobra...one of those guys who showed up on screen and already seemed like a lived in personality. Since I mentioned Miami Vice in this thread, he was the main villain in maybe the best story arc of the whole series...a Russian hitman in the "Bushido" episodes about Edward James Olmos / Lt. Castillo.

Surf's up pal!

And for the Robert Tepper fans...a great (reasonably recent) live version of No Easy Way Out with extended guitar solo at the end. The guy is ripping it up.

Robert turned into Tom Berenger's dad but it hasn't slowed him down. The man still knows how to rock.

Love this movie.
The Ohio tip match in the mouth is fuggin' classic.
Always hated Brigitte Nielsen though. Really wanted her to die in this.
The chopped 1950 Mercury was bad ass.

It pretty much sums up the 80's. Can't think of many better movies from any era.

Stallone said in an interview that he had hoped that Cobra would of become a franchise with multiple movies. Unfortunately the acting and script of Cobra was average at best.

It really was made with Dirty Harry (a well established franchise at that point) in mind, right down to casting Reni Santoni and Andrew Robinson in significant roles. It just got hacked and slashed so bad that Brian Thompson must have made a visit to the editing room.

Cobra also takes place during Christmas (though it's more like I Come in Peace or Lethal Weapon in that it's a small part of it; not like Die Hard 1-2 or Invasion U.S.A. where Christmas is integrated more into the film), watch it every Christmas season.
It's a very fun film, but then again all Cannon action films are.
I like that the actor that played Cobra's partner Gonzales also played Dirty Harry's original partner (also named Gonzales, who actually survived being Dirty Harry's partner- so he was kind of like the Dirty Harry equivalent of Jill Ireland's being Paul Kersey's lover in Death Wish 2 and not being raped or murdered).

And Cobra's commanding officer was Andy Robinson who played Scorpio in Dirty Harry.
