So, I watched the first six minutes of your hour-long video (which is as far as I'm likely to go) and Punk says "my assumption is that we're drawing from the cinematic Drax because that's what's in the mainstream. That's what people recognise."
His assumption? Punk doesn't even know what version of the character he's going to be writing, and you think that he somehow told you?
They've done these solo titles for two other Guardians characters, and neither was based on the cinematic version. clearly he is uniformed.

He is writing an established character with comic canon.
Punk is the junior writer here. He is going to be babysat, and will have little creative control.

They already changed his whole personality in 2008 (or sometime around then). The version that Punk will be writing is a version of the character that already exists. And not the version from the movie.

And that his new series will probably be based on Drax from the movies . As he said it won't be based on the Drax we used to know. And if you read the synopsis for the series you would know it's being written after what happens in the movie. If probably can get you suspended for 4 games in the NFL ( Brady ) then it's probably true. Apology accepted. And as for having no knowledge of comics, I just taught you something.

He co-wrote shorts in 2 comic books. If you contribute a short story to a collection, you are not a novelist. He is not a comic book writer, at the moment, any more than he's an MMA fighter.
He has not written a comic for either Marvel or DC, despite what he says. He has contributed to issues for both of them, though.

I was wrong about him being at a comic con, but then, you misled me by giving a false narrative of what Punk had said (he didn't say it was going to be based on the movies, because he hasn't been told yet). My error was, in all fairness, due to the falseness of your information.

He didn't say it probably will be. He said that he assumes it will be. From what he did say, I would assume that he hasn't yet been told anything about the series other than the name of the title character. Since Marvel has set a precedent for Guardians characters already since the release of the film, it's unlikely that they are going to stray from that path for this one character.
