Punk wouldn't make it to the final bell. I'm not sayin that JDF is Sensei Segal, but you don't get a 7th degree black belt in anything from a cracker jacks box. Dude would probably beat punk up pretty badly lol.
As I said before JDF needs this fight to stay relevant, to stay in the spotlight. Because Punk's first fight ( if he has skills or not ) will be a huge ppv payday. He says Dana doesnt have to pay him. But he will still get a cut from the buys and the gate. As well as a chance of getting a contract. Punk doesn't have to do shit. He doesnt even need to be doing this. And that pisses people off.
Well if you actually watched the interview you would know that this Drax is being written based on the one portrayed in the movies.
Also he wrote Thor and as of March he has written for Vertigo ( owned by DC ) for a series called Strange Sports.
I'll accept that apology anytime now.
Except he's not.
If you actually knew anything about the topic you're trying to discuss, you'd know that the movie Drax is based on a relatively recent incarnation of the comic Drax, and that the series will, in fact, be a canonical continuation of the comic book character's story.
They are not at a comic convention in the video, and so Punk probably just explained in the easiest way he knows how to a bunch of people who, like you, know very little about the comic characters.
How do I know this? Because Drax is only the latest Guardians of the Galaxy character to receive his own solo spin-off from the main Guardians comics. Rocket's had one woo, and guess what? Not based on the movie.
He co-wrote a short story in each of those annuals. He hasn't actually written a complete comic yet.
Are we just suppose to pretend this would be a fair fight lol
I'm sure you can buy a Black belt in Gracie Brazilian Jujitsu from Walmart now. ( My god those guys breed)
belt status doesn't mean much. It's one persons interpretation of another's skill level. I've seen purple belts tap out black belts and I'm sure you have too. Karate generally doesn't translate very well into MMA although there have been exceptions of course. Muay Thai does though and if he actually has competed then I would agree he would certainly be a strong favorite.
I do see what you're saying for belt status, but there is still the fact that he has a win via omoplata and that you have to have at least 2 years of experience as a blue belt before you can become a purple belt. CM Punk has only been training BJJ properly for about a year and a half.
yea the omoplata on his record definitely made me wonder. You just don't see them often. It shows at least some level of competence even if the opponent was a novice.
Well being a WWE Champion and having one of the best wrestling promos in recent memory. I would think he would have more claim to being a celebrity than JDF. Regardless, I was just correcting the guy who said "murican celebs" because they're not really celebs. I wasn't trying to insult anyone.
Side note: CM Punk only has a white belt because he doesn't want to train under the belt system. He's been training BJJ with Rener Gracie for around 2-3 years so he could be blue belt or maybe even purple belt level depending on how good he is.
Im well aware that Drax has been around for years, but they are changing his whole personality.
Apology is still waiting to be accepted when you are ready.
Do you have a choice in the matter, isn't BJJ based on a belt system for a reason? And why on earth would someone not want to train under a belt system? Serious questions. I dont understand.
Interested in his debut though, it'll be make or break. Perhaps it would've been smarter to fight in a smaller organization first but we'll see.
When will he actually debut?
