That's expensive, time consuming and put fighters away from competition. Tearing ACLs, MCLs and so on should not
be a staple in the sport. Eventually the entire roster will have shut knees.

Should be banned IMO.

Meh- I dont know , he couldve handled that better but it was right after fight and even the soccer kick statement was more like " ok , more violence the better " as coming from a fighter . Whitaker definitely does come across like a guy wishing serious injury on his opponent .

Now - come Monday he says something like one less contender the better then I could reassess Whitaker maybe not being such a nice guy after all. I dont think we'll hear that.

It's an easy fix too. No strikes landing with the toes/feet below the belt allowed. Boom, fixed.

Proper leg kicks should land with the shin anyway, which would still be legal, as would knee strikes.

I gotta admit headbutts are pretty cool. But I would only allow them standing. Not on the ground. Stomps, soccer kicks and knees to the ground should be allowed. Obviously eye gouging was never legal and harsh penalty should come even on an accidental eye gouge. Ball kicking, throat striking has always been illegal in MMA, (not vale tudo, vale tudo is just no eye gouges no biting, all else legal). Which I have to admit, vale tudo is MMAs origin.
