Classless Robert Whittaker happy Darren Till needs surgery

I agree I want soccer kicks too
stomps and knees to the head of grounded opponents as well, bring back PRIDE full rules worldwide, imagine Khabib landing knees to the head when he gets the tkd, or the brazilians soccer kicks and stomps ala Wandy and Shogun, that was a thing of beauty

But brain or liver damage is fine? How about elbows to the downed opponent hitting eyes? What about leg kicks? Condit got completely fucked up knee from a low kick that landed on his inner thigh. This is a very dangerous sport. Most fighters (except some human POS) don't want to hurt their opponent. They need to win the fight and have to use what the rules allow them..

Actually, yeah, they are fine. Long term damage, it's their problem, not the sports or the fans' problems.

You can't hold a conversation, brag about your love for "violence" (which I doubt you understand) and resort to this?

He never say he was happy Till needed surgery, he was happy he hurt him and won the fight which is a whole other story.... if you go into an MMA fight not wanting to hurt your opponent, or afterwards regret hurting them in order to win the fight, you're a fucking idiot.

Mods just delete this shit thread

That's expensive, time consuming and put fighters away from competition. Tearing ACLs, MCLs and so on should not
be a staple in the sport. Eventually the entire roster will have shut knees.

Should be banned IMO.

lol why? so all the point fighters who bounce around not doing anything can't get the one body part that's sticking out kicked in?

Why’s everyone so precious about knees? I’d rather take a shot to the knee than face.

Because you can't fix busted knees without replacing them.... a broken orbital, fractured jaw is just some surgery and healing bone. maybe permanent sinus/eye pain from the trauma (i have that). i'd take that over my knee being fucked and having a hard time moving for the rest of my life any day.

Its like what Darren mostly done to Wonderboy.... so yeah no complaining about the move Darren

Koscheck lost vision and feeling in his face permanently from jabs. It’s a dangerous sport. Allowing strikes to the knee doesn’t suddenly increase the danger exponentially.

Judging by the use of knee wraps the average pro netballer has worse knees than pro fighters.

Other fighters had complained about those kicks for years now but nothing has been done by the commission

Same as always with guys who get hurt by this technique and then complain after. He is coming forward with predictable straight forward movement and heavy on the lead leg. He's begging the lead leg to be attacked, Rob only obliged.

I didn't have an issue with Rob's response, either. I don't think he was excited about the surgery, just excited that the technique had worked and helped him win the fight

It takes minimal effort to hyperextend someone's knee with a kick, it's not really impressive or adds anything to the fights IMO but I still think it should be legal. It's not very common you hear about permanent facial injuries in MMA honestly, for a sport that's basically based on punching someone in the face just about the worst thing you hear about is breathing trouble in terms of permanent issues (and CTE of course but that's a different story). Losing your eye is something that's pretty rare.... Cyborgs skull getting crushed is also rare. Broken jaws are common because you're punching someone in the face.... pretty easy fix if it's not too bad.

I hope Aussies and Kiwis don't lose their your sense of humor down there, like we have in the States.

Everyone up here on Social Media, INCLUDING MANY ON THIS FORUM, have turned into catty gossiping teenagers.

For anyone else, don't be in a rush to quote me to agree, because you might fall in that category.
Fucking oath mate. To make matter's worst this cunt thread starter's an Aussie. Dick's giving the rest of us a bad name.

Why are you even messaging me? You turned a conversation about injuries into your false belief that you "handle violence" oh so well.

The real world has a lot more violence than MMA and you are sheltered from all of it. Time to take a nap, you are cranky.

Claiming MMA is “as real as it gets” but don’t even allow soccer kicks, is not a real fight.

I agree with Whittaker 1000%, we want soccer kicks back.

If you were to do a regular leg kick, you could hit the knee. So only kicks at a certain angle should be legal? All techniques are designed to hurt. Simply avoid the technique sideway stances are vulnerable to this technique, but are more mobile. You're giving karate fighters and advantage this way. These men concuss each other for a living. You can't start banning legitimate tools because they're dangerous in a dangerous sport.

U have a good point. I loved stomps and soccer kicks but they are not allowed anymore for a reason, even in a dangerous sport.
