Opinion Church

Ladies and Gentlemen, there have been things going on in my life, and I feel a "call back" for returning to my Christian faith 100% , and family environment. The problem is "Sunday morning"(cue Nirvana) seemingly anywhere seems like a pre-planned/robotic message about "social issues" with a sing-along intermixed (Which it is, I attended Bible School). It rings so hollow even when interacting with other "believers" looking for growth, and guidance). It's a BS structure, because the pastor is delivering a generic"pre-planned message', to a mixed audience of diehards/newbies(and everything in between), while also appealing to "Will you return next week, and are you willing to risk your eternal salvation if you don't or if you feel that I'm wrong saying this?"
You need more veggie tales, imo

I came from an Agnostic environment and turned to God later in life. I believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Bible as the Word of God, and traditional Christianity. I pray and read my Bible almost every day.

I travel frequently and have visited many churches. There are some very good churches out there. Let's be honest, most churches are complete garbage. They are absolutely worthless and a cancer to America.

If you went to Bible school, left the faith, returned you might be surprised to find that the church is mostly worthless at this point. But dust off that Bible and notice we have 317 warnings about false teachers in that Bible.

"The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but after their own lusts they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears they will turn their ears away from truth and be turned unto fables."

Go to church and heckle the pastors. Most are grifters out to hustle a buck. Some are sexual perverts and others are more like clowns and entertainers, rather than men of God. A religious system has been put in place in many areas to turn people to religious systems like the Pharisees and Saducees rather than Christ.

If I returned back to religion I'd treat it as a suck it and see and try out various churches, I doubt any of them would feel poorly towards you if you Goldilocks it. You're not going for obligation reasons, I don't know your reason for wanting to return but it should be somewhere you feel comfortable.

Stockpile some guns..

Seems like you just need a different Church culture.

There's this really great one called the Church of Scientology. It's so good a lot of celebrities go to it and you can also get lots of sex from the members too. Really changed my life personally.

Here's proof actual celebrities go to the Church. DM me if interested.

This is where my cult obsession began. I now own all the L Ron Hubbard books and CDs. It fascinates me.

Just join the church that goes to buffet or have good food afterwards.

Tax mega churches. Tax any large organized religion entity. Tax the rich.

Agreed that religious entities should not be tax exempt. When you look at the amount of money they have behind them already, it's insane that they get tax breaks. Still haven't had a decent explanation as to why they deserve tax exempt status seeing as they're run like businesses

This kinda hits hard with some of the ridiculous shit I see on Instagram. Saw some E-THOT with her stupid picture caption "Why should I feel guilty, I'm not a Catholic", and going on about "manifestations" and "vibes" as the foundation of exceptional being.

It's like 2,000 years later, these seeming high school drop outs who may have never read a , proper book in their entire lives can't hold down a serious job, can't hold down a serious relationship, friends are fake or just people to be used, have drug problems, alcohol problems, mental health disorders, poor to non-existent empathy etc. Stupid usernames too, like "I'm HottieBling, and this is my friend CocaineDaisy, and we're here to tell you about spirituality and the ills of Christianity". And people call these types "progressives" lol.

I'm atheist, but do think lot of the leading atheists are misguided in their reductionist beliefs on religion.

I've read (and watched) some worship of Orthodoxy and it blew my mind. The reverence and spirit of humility and involvement. It seemed to be an authentic experience of the hollow Sunday timetable most church gatherings adhere to.

I'm not Orthodox btw - was just my observation
