International Christmas Day Carnage: Trump Launches Attacks on Islamic State in Nigeria

Romans 13:3–4

For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

Here's a little new testament for you guys.

On a different note, how is this an “America First” policy? How is bombing these shitbags in Nigeria helping the US in any way?

Me thinks Trumpers have been lied to again…..

Awaiting the mental gymnastics on this.
I'm not saying what he did was right or wrong, but Africa does have lots of natural resources. Creating alliances with other countries could be beneficial to us.

Ball-washing bullshit for rich and powerful figures.

No chance Jesus would be involved in that.

Do you think Jesus would approve of the bombings done today on Christmas?

AIt is unchristian. You’re quoting Old Testament verses. The New Testament supersedes the Old Testament in any cases where they conflict. Jesus was pretty clear on his thoughts about war.

Nope, Jesus doesn't oppose wars in the new testament, in fact he even uses war as a example of careful consideration and planning.

Luke 14:31
“Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?

Do you think Jesus would approve of the bombings done today on Christmas?

He would refuse to comment, but his teachings would allow war.

He also probably couldn't care about a holiday, and would likely view Christmas as any other day.

President Donald Trump has said the US launched a "powerful and deadly strike" against the Islamic State (IS) group in north-western Nigeria.
In a post on Truth Social, the US president described IS as " terrorist scum", accusing them of "targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians".
He said the US military "executed numerous perfect strikes", without giving any further details. It is unclear what exactly targets were struck and when.
In November, Trump ordered the US military to prepare for action in Nigeria to tackle Islamist militant groups.
In his post late on Thursday, Trump said that "under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper".
In his warning back in November, the US leader did not say which killings he was referring to - but claims of a genocide against Nigeria's Christians have been circulating in recent months in some right-wing US circles.
Groups monitoring violence say there is no evidence to suggest that Christians are being killed more than Muslims in Nigeria, which is roughly evenly divided between followers of the two religions.
An adviser to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu told the BBC at the time that any military action against the jihadist groups should be carried out together.
Daniel Bwala said Nigeria would welcome US help in tackling the Islamist insurgents but noted that it was a "sovereign" country.
He also said the jihadists were not targeting members of a particular religion and that they had killed people from all faiths, or none.
President Tinubu has insisted there is religious tolerance in the country and said the security challenges were affecting people "across faiths and regions".
Trump earlier announced that he had declared Nigeria a "Country of Particular Concern" because of the "existential threat" posed to its Christian population. He said "thousands" had been killed, without providing any evidence.
This is a designation used by the US state department that provides for sanctions against countries "engaged in severe violations of religious freedom".
Following this announcement, Tinubu said his government was committed to working with the US and the international community to protect communities of all faiths.
Jihadist groups such as Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province have wrought havoc in north-eastern Nigeria for more than a decade, killing thousands of people - however most of these have been Muslims, according to Acled, a group which analyses political violence around the world.
In central Nigeria, there are also frequent clashes between mostly Muslim herders and farming groups, who are often Christian, over access to water and pasture.
Deadly cycles of tit-for-tat attacks have also seen thousands killed - but atrocities have been committed on both sides.
Human rights group say there is no evidence that Christians have been disproportionately targeted.

Aside from the loosely entertaining irony of the whole "President Peace" moniker, I can't say I'll ever sympathise with IS terrorists.

Obviously the key is actually hitting the terrorists and knowing what you're doing, so it will be worth following Christmas Day Carnage 2025 to see exactly how it unfolds and not how it sounds on paper.

FWIW I wonder if this is linked:

Turkey working with US and other countries to bring down IS networks seeking to launch "attacks across Christmas and New Year".

A fully dismantled Islamic State would be a fantastic achievement even if it won't bring the Nobel Peace Prize any closer.

No more War!!! No more War!! MAGA 2025!! No more War!!!

...........o wait

AIt is unchristian. You’re quoting Old Testament verses. The New Testament supersedes the Old Testament in any cases where they conflict. Jesus was pretty clear on his thoughts about war.

No he wasn't Jesus rarely talked about war. He talked about personal violence, not war.

His position is far more likely to be that if you are going to go to war, make sure it is just.

No more War!!! No more War!! MAGA 2025!! No more War!!!

...........o wait

I don't think anyone wanted Trump to stop bombing ISIS.

It was also far more about nation building then actual wars that was being opposed. No more vietnam and afghanistan type wars. No more going in to build a nation after toppling them. If we are going to go to war... destroy and leave.
Also, don't act like he didn't run on American exceptionalism and taking the resources of other nations to make us better.

He had made it clear, for Iraq, he'd have taken the oil. Don't misinterpret the MAGA movement.

Good. These cunts have been committing filth for a long, long time in Nigeria and the Nigerian government have clearly reached out for help because their military is struggling to contain them. They are committing an actual attempted genocide of Christians so let them have it - Nigeria is a multi-religious country, and these groups do not want that.

Nigeria requested it months ago didnt they?

Plus they just " bought " 345 million in us weaponry.

Nigeria is looking to buy $346 million worth of munitions from the United States, including guided bombs and rockets, with the State Department approving the possible sale.

The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 13 August said it had notified Congress of the potential sale on Wednesday.

im guessing its mainly to prevent china from gaining more

  • China has cautioned the United States against using religion or human rights as excuses to interfere in Nigeria’s internal affairs.
  • Beijing reaffirmed its strategic partnership with Abuja, highlighting growing cooperation in mining and infrastructure.
  • Chinese firms have invested over $1.3 billion in Nigeria’s lithium and mineral value chains in less than two years.
  • Analysts say China’s defence of Nigeria reflects its broader bid to secure access to Africa’s critical resources and markets

Ecclesiastes 3:1–8

“There is a time for everything… a time for war, and a time for peace.”

Deuteronomy 20:1–4

“When you go out to war against your enemies… the Lord your God is with you… to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.”

Don’t act like war is unchristian. Read the Bible.
So the Ecclesiastes quote is just saying there is a time for war, it is talking about seasons, it is not a justification for war, just saying we will have it.

The Old Testament clearly has examples of war being needed. But the NewTestament has none. Peter is told to put away the sword.

My understanding is that innocent people are getting killed in Nigeria by Islamic terrorists, so I support defending them. I just don't think the Bible can be used for that defense.

“Far more likely” is an odd way of putting it. Why did you write it like that?

I agree that the idea is good in principle.

These purveyors of misery and ruin can go fuck themselves.

I don't necessarily trust this US admin to get it right, though, and am concerned at Trump's OTT rhetoric. I'm also not convinced by "Nigeria's government asked for this", because for all we know, they're just sicking the big dogs on a political opponent.

But IF it's done well, with minimal civilian damage, then yeah. Fuck IS.

China are also right, religion is a silly excuse. Punish acts, choosing sides based on a religion has no place in modern war - just like with Islamist extremists.

We did cross the Deleware to kill our enemies on Christmas evening during the Revolutionary War...

I was at the re-enactment in Washington Crossing, PA this year after missing it last year.
