Changed my opinion on O'Malley

I guess when I think about it, it's his fans that I hate not him so much.

Still should have lost to Yan, and should have lost that one fight where he had one leg

He's a humble guy. Just flashy, it's his style and it sells. Nothing wrong with Sean

I don’t know man. A few years ago I was at an MMA show in a small town in Kansas. During the middle of one fight, the referee dropped his pants and took a huge shit in the cage. Then he fell over and passed out. He had some kind of massive stomach problem. He left there in an ambulance. And he left a turd in the cage. That was so gross.

He won, so you became a fan. If he starts losing again you'll be saying he was always overrated, you were never a fan, and so forth. That's how it works here.

I hated him because I thought he was all talk and UFC push. I respect him now, because he finally earned it.

I dont like the way he looks
Don’t like his cuckholdry
But a fan of his personality and fight style from day 1

Ehhhh...

Aljo fought like an idiot, chasing the better striker and lunging at him rather than fight smart and try to work his game. He only attempted two takedowns and threw more strikes than Sean. O'Malley threw the perfect punch while Aljo rushing in face first was idiotic. Great punch from Sean. Nice footwork and dictating range to make Aljo a bit uncomfortable and fight out of character, but we didn't see enough to conclude that Sean's TDD was light years better.
We didn't really see his TDD at all actually. Those 2 shots by Aljo were terribly telegraphed and the one he didn't even commit to.

That's the danger of Sean though is that you don't have much time to work if you have the holes in your standup that Aljo has.

Yeah regardless how he looks, anyone who has watched him fight can appreciate how good he is. He's one of the slickest, most accurate strikers I've seen in a long time and in MMA ever. And, you could see it immediately.

And yeah he doesn't say any crazy shit either, it's all just how he looks really. He kind of speaks immature but he's very honest and just direct, even admitting being nervous and shit like that. Very few do that.

O'Malley has given every incel nerd on the planet hope of being a badass.

He's legit though, in the cage at least.

Sean’s always been a good dude, and y’all who are triggered by someone who dyes their hair are the same type of mark fans that pro-wrestling pays their bills with. Dude is an incredible striker, with an exciting style, and he’s very humble and respectful if you actually just listen to an interview.

until he beats Vera, Sandhagen and Merab we'll see. Sterling didn't know how to enter for the TD, then again O'Malley was smart.

He definitely started off as a can crusher. But it turned out to be a smart move. He’s trained and improved at a proper rate

I don’t like him or care about him much but he is a very good fighter and an elite striker he had a great performance Saturday.

I can admit that O'Malley is talented, but I'm not a fan of the clown show and how he represents himself. UFC really pushing the "Omalley is a star narrative", and I guess I just don't see it. I will laugh when this train derails.

At the very beginning you could definitely consider me a hater cause the whole schtick and the UFC push.

I'm still not a fan of the schtick, I mean the guy looks fucken ridiculous at least aesthetically represents a whole generation of fentanyl addicted degenerates, and attention seeking narcissists.

That said, to be fair to O'Malley, he only seems to use the image to get him that extra hype, but doesn't actually act like a complete idiot. He doesn't really embrace any heel persona, he just kinda looks silly and cringe, but for the most part comes across as intelligent and calculated both verbally and obviously in his fighting style.

I was still rooting against him vs Yan, but after that fight I quietly told myself that this kid is both pretty good, and pretty entertaining, and is actually probably not the douchebag he looks like. Piotr was clearly triggered at the weigh in and gave him a shove which is always pretty douche, and to Sean's credit he took it like a complete professional and went out and did what he needed to do.

Going into the Sterling fight I was very perplexed about who I wanted to win... on the one hand I still considered the fact that O'Malley as champ will probably bring back the insufferable Conor-type turds to the mma community, but on the other hand I never took Aljo all that seriously as supposedly the top BW... and not to bash him or anything, the guy has some real skills and obviously accomplished a lot, but the thought of him leaving BW as champ didn't really sit well with me either.

At the end of the day, O'Malley is a guaranteed exciting fight regardless of who they match him up with, and his skills are undeniably impressive, and aside from his appearance the guy is really not that obnoxious, the things he says are well measured, he's not just spewing garbage, and he seems pretty realistic and level headed in his outlook. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say I'm a fan, but I can appreciate him and enjoy his fights. He's still very young but he already shows more maturity and mental fortitude than someone like Izzy for example, who I want to like but he just makes it impossible for me.
Executive summary: before.....meh, ...now... he's ok.
