Chandler is criminally overrated

Wow what an epiphany, I think you may be onto something. <{Joewithit}>

I wouldn't call him a gatekeeper. Hes in a different category.
If anything his role is to keep certain fighters inside the gates
but I also think he stunted his development by staying in Bellator so long, fighting mostly lackluster competition.
Maybe, but some fighter seem unable to change despite the circumstence. Take Anthony Pettis, who took the UFC title at 26, kept fighting elite opposition for the better part of a decade afterward, winning some, losing some, but never really improving.

Meh. He’s fun. I don’t think anyone that knows what they’re talking about thinks he’s some extremely elite professional. Everyone has a role, and I enjoy his. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

One thing everyone will eventually realize (spoken as an ancient 32 year old man), is that because someone isn’t the best performer, it doesn’t mean that they’re not very important. Maybe not in as much in a solo sport atmosphere, but just in life.

Nobody rates him all that highly though?

Also, to be fair to him, he was already like 35 with nearly 30 fights worth of mileage on him when he came to the UFC.

He isn’t overrated

He came to the ufc late
And he’s done what he has done in the ufc

He has no chance against Conor
Even the Conor we have now, it goes just like the Conor Eddie fight literally
Chandler at his most washed will beat Conor 10/10 times, he has no athleticism anymore.

He is both criminally overrated and criminally over-stupid. And a massive cheater. When we're now in the realm of fixed fights, how many of Chandler's fights where he gets away with cheating over and over again might be rigged?

I think if you pay attention he is pretty appropriately rated.

For being 40, he comes in shape and brings it. Yeah he might lose every fight until he retires, but he has a legit skill set. Even good fighters fade when they get older. He's been over ranked for a long time in the UFC. But the guy is just doing what he can to squeeze the last bits of money out of his career, can't hate him for it.

chandler's problem isnt his lack of skill its that he is a showman, an approval-seeker at that.

its why he basically sucks up to most be it Poirier or to Conor no matter what they throw his way. its why he lives by his moniker of the most entertaining etc bc a lot of his theatrics in his fights are almost...cinematic...to nicely put it. he rather win the affection of the crowd rather than do what works which also includes his solid foundation in wrestling but no it has to be a scene out of Three Musketeers or Warrior from him.

his entire instagram is some motivational nonsense and an absurd lean on fitness above his actual combat.

i think he has come out to be a hell of a guy but just nowhere near good enough for UFC standard nor will it get better from here and his wife openly sucking him by saying how he lost his personality chasing Conor, is just LMAO.

but i do like how the OP likely sat down on the toilet and decided "f*ck me its time to call out a fighter who isnt rated, for being overrated!"

see you at the Topuria!

He is in exciting fights but usually always on the losing end. No way he should ever be in the top 10.
