So why doesn't everyone else do it and get paid? He's the top draw in the card and hasn't even gotten UFC gold.
 
Chael is one of the more cowardly fighters imo. His style means most of the time he's in very little danger. He's afraid to get hit, and when he does feel that he's not as strong as his opponent, he turtles up for the most part.
 
No, his name doesn't belong in there.
He's just seizing the moment taking big money fights.

Hahahahaha no, it not like he goes out on his shield, if he doesn't get a TD 10 seconds in he breaks mentally and gives up as soon as he gets hit, he takes these big fights knowing he will get paid big money and he can just quit as soon as he takes a hard shot

Sakuraba has taken some brutal beatings against bigger men and came back to win, where as Chael has simply tapped at the first sign of trouble against smaller guys.

Chael has 'taken fights' against bigger guys and short notice match ups, but he will only do so when it's a Win-Win situation for him. ie If he loses a last minute fight, he can claim it was because he was under prepared. If he fights a bigger guy, he can claim he only lost because he was at a disadvantage. No matter the outcome of these kind of fights, he gets qudos.

This is why Chael has never been and never will be UFC champ. He has the mindset of a glorious loser, as opposed to a winner. He can't handle the pressure of being expected to win a fight, and he will choke under those circumstances. It's much easier when people expect you to lose. That's why guys like Anderson, GSP, Matt Hughes etc are much ballsier than Chael. They go out every day with the whole world gunning for them and trying to take their titles. That must be incredibly tough. Tapping to bigger guys ad nauseum for a big pay cheque? I'll do that any day of the week.

Hard to consider a known cheat as being ballsy in my opinion, guy been on trt forever for a reason, I don't think he should ever be in the same sentence as the guys you listed
 
I have to go with DC, he outsized in every fight, except Hendo, and absolutely smashes everybody. He's a natural middleweight who absolutely destroyed huge heavyweights in Mir, Barnett, and Bigfoot. He took out Bigfoot in a under one round with less than two years fighting experience. Add that Bigfoot looked unstoppable coming off of an absolute besmirchment of Fedor finishing him in two rounds of brutality. Then DC dominated one of the most decorated heavyweights ever in Barnett with less than three years if fight experience. This guy is not only arguably the most talented fighter we've seen but without a doubt the ballsiest.
 
no. he is overated.. and over paid! we wont be talking about sonnen in title contention ever again.... I have serious doubts that he will continue fighting in the ufc for more than 3 more fights . he cannot keep up with younger hungry educated mixed martial artist's at the highest of levels. the guy can sell a fight and talk the talk but how many loses before he has to walk the walk

Ya also Sakuraba used to take fucking risks vs big tough opponents. He would always look for that kimura against anyone he fought while getting beat up in the process.
